HSE Specialists are critical members of Oxy's integrated team since the foundation of Oxy's business. The primary objective for this position is to be the focal point for integrating HSE practices and policies into daily operations across-functional teams, which includes operations, and support functions. The primary objective for this position is to be the focal point for HSE data analytics and administrative duties for HSE team. Ensuring HSE practices and policies are being tracked accordingly and providing the business unit with required KPI / metric data as needed. Essential functions of the role include the following: Essential Functions:
- Responsible for communicating and applying federal, state, local and company HSE policies in addition to requirements within operations
- Support HSE team to develop and implement new and existing programs designed to promote improved HSE performance, annual maintenance of risk management plans, emergency response planning, audits and assessments
- Record keeping, internal and external reporting, development of written reports
- Maintain records of Investigations, root cause analysis and environmental requirements
- Maintain records of HSE training and support to operations/construction field personnel
- Maintain PWS data for the Business Unit
- Focal point for HSE Systems programs and data for the HSE team.
- Perform general officedutiessuch as ordering supplies, maintaining records management database systems, and performing basic bookkeeping work.
- Prepare time reports, expense reports, and organization charts as needed for the department.
- Submit Tyndale order requests for new hires.
- Review incident and observations to ensure they do not meeting the PSI Criteria.
- Make and distribute H2S cards as needed.
- Prepare presentation materials, including charts, graphs, and slides.
- Maintain a filing system for various ORCM business unit documents.
- Assist in preparing reports, bulletins, andalerts.
- Provide clerical support for ORCM business unit.
Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma. Continued Education - 2-year or 4-year bachelor's degree - preferred
- Skills & Competencies: Thorough knowledge of HES Software (Intelex, SAP). Prepares logical, technically supported communications, recommendations, and reports.
- Experience: 2+ years of experience in the oil/gas industry (preferred)
- Demonstrated commitment to safety
- Demonstrated ability to work within multi-discipline team environment
- Ability to prepare and deliver both written and oral presentations
- Advanced in use of Microsoft Office Suite software
- Demonstrated problem solving and time management skills
