What you'll own as the Senior Compliance Specialist

The Senior Compliance Specialist within the Office of the CTO will be responsible for ensuring that all technology-related activities and processes comply with internal policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. This role will work closely with key governance leaders, internal technology teams, and compliance/audit departments to manage compliance requirements, develop and maintain policies and procedures, and oversee incident management and response processes.

1. Compliance Monitoring and Standards Management:

  • Continuously monitor compliance requirements and standards

  • Stay updated on relevant regulatory changes and industry best practices

2. Collaboration and Needs Translation:

  • Work closely with internal technology teams to understand compliance needs and translate them into actionable requirements.

  • Collaborate with compliance and audit teams to ensure alignment and support for compliance initiatives.

3. Policy and Procedure Management:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all relevant standards.

  • Ensure all documentation is up-to-date, easily accessible, and effectively communicated to relevant stakeholders.

4. Incident Management and Response

  • Establish and manage incident management and response processes to address compliance breaches

  • Coordinate with relevant teams to investigate incidents, implement corrective actions, and report findings

5. Training and Awareness:

  • Develop and deliver training programs to educate staff on compliance requirements and best practices.

  • Promote a culture of compliance and ethical behavior across the organization.

6. Audit Support:

  • Prepare for and support internal and external audits related to compliance.

  • Ensure timely and accurate responses to audit findings and recommendations.

7. Reporting and Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate records of compliance activities and incidents.

  • Prepare regular reports on compliance status, issues, and actions for senior management.

What you'll bring

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Information Security, Management Information Systems

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CISA, CGEIT, CRISC, CISSP) are strongly preferred.

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a compliance role, preferably within a technology-focused organization.

  • Proven knowledge of compliance frameworks: NIST, ISO 27001, COBIT 2019, PCI-DSS, and GDPR

  • Experience working in the financial sector, credit card processing background is strongly preferred.

  • Experience in policy development, documentation management, and incident response.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across various teams and departments. Confident in working with senior and executive level leaders preferred.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • High level of integrity and professionalism.

It's a bonus if you have
