Team Lead, Animal Support Tech

Job Purpose:

The Production Service & Support Group Leader plays an essential role in supervising and training our Production Service & Support Technicians. This role is responsible for the efficient preparation of equipment for the animal care areas.

This job contributes to organizational success by being capable to:

• Perform all the duties of a Production Services and Support Technician
• Train Equipment Services personnel
• Assure procedures are followed and policies adhered to
• Coordinate with animal area leadership to assure equipment and supply needs are met
• Assure escalation occurs in the event any equipment or procedure deviation.
• Prepare work schedules and reports as necessary
• Work with area supervisor to correct personnel performance problems
• Continually monitor, practice and enforce proper biosecurity concerns
• Represent the needs and concerns of employees in their area to the supervisor
• Supervise and assist in the receipt of incoming supplies, feed, bedding, etc. Supervise and assist with the outflow of equipment, trash, etc.
• Turn in repair requests to supervisor
• Work in the area as necessary
• Assure that safe work practices are followed
• Assist with the preparation of yearly reviews and PMD's.
• Oversee and suggest improvements in the work area
• Perform other duties as assigned by management

Job Requirements:

Must have all the qualifications of a Senior Technician and be able to:

• Have and practice good/ strong leadership and human relations skills
• Assists with coordination of training/development/mentoring of personnel
• Strong interpersonal skills are required to interface with teammates
• Work with a minimum level of supervision
• Evaluate the work of others in an impartial manner
• Work in a standing position that will require bending and stretching of arms and legs
• Lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Competency Level IV required in Training Record
• Understand and utilization of R.A.T.S
• Understand and ensure AAALAC requirements are being followed
• Evaluation of staff utilizing the Technician Advancement Program (TAP)

*This position could be offered at different levels for candidates who qualify with a combination of advanced levels of education and/or years of experience. The salary range will adjust along with the level of the role to match the person's relevant experience and/or education level.
