Summary/Objective

The Data Engineer documents, supports, and automates the cloud data warehouse for Lippert Components. The candidate should have experience with ELT/ETL and dimensional modeling. The candidate must be able to work in a dynamic and rapidly expanding environment.

Essential Functions

1.Design, build, and optimize ETL / ELT pipelines in Python, SQL, and Spark on Databricks to ingest data from diverse sources into our Delta Lake.

2. Develop and maintain data models that power analytics dashboards, AI/ML models, and downstream applications.

3. Implement data quality checks, validation rules, and transformations to ensure data integrity.

4. Work closely with stakeholders to understand data requirements and align them with business needs.

5. Strong desire to document and automate common tasks

6. Participate in data governance efforts, including data cleansing, standardization, and de-duplication.

7. Monitor data quality, identify issues, and develop solutions to improve data accuracy.

8. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in data engineering, analytics, and AI.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibility.

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to handle, feel, or reach. This position is not very active when it comes to movement and requires a lot of typing and sitting in a chair.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time salary position and the expected work hours are 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.

Travel

There is minimal to no travel with this position.

Requirements

1. 5 + years building large-scale data platforms; 3 + years deep hands-on Databricks & Spark experience.

2. Track record designing/implementing data models and slowly changing dimensions in lake-house or DW environments.

3. Proven experience with cost management, performance tuning, and cluster lifecycle automation.

4. Strong communication skills; ability to distill complex topics for engineers, executives, and product teams.

5. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and priorities.

What'll Make you Special

1. Experience with Dynamics365 F&O or DynamicsAX

2. Expert-level Python and Spark SQL; comfortable with structured streaming, Auto-Loader, and Delta Lake internals.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance:

  1. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  2. Possession of a valid driver's license
