Position Summary:

Applied Training Solutions, LLC is seeking a Communications Coordinator to support the planning and implementation of communication systems for emergency incident operations. This role is responsible for coordinating the use, distribution, installation, and testing of communication equipment and infrastructure to ensure operational effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:




  • Assist in the coordination of communication plans for incident response operations





  • Oversee the effective use of incident communications equipment and facilities





  • Manage the distribution and inventory of communications equipment for incident personnel





  • Coordinate installation and operational testing of communication systems and infrastructure





  • Support troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs of deployed communication equipment





  • Collaborate with logistics and operations staff to ensure communication support meets mission needs





  • Document equipment distribution, testing results, and operational readiness status





  • Assist with demobilization and recovery of communications equipment post-incident




Basic Qualifications:




  • 3+ years of work experience in communication systems coordination or support





  • Strong understanding of communication infrastructure and emergency operations





  • Experience with installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of communication equipment





  • Excellent organizational and documentation skills





  • Ability to operate in high-pressure environments with minimal supervision





  • Must be a U.S. citizen




Preferred Qualifications:




  • Experience supporting emergency operations or field communications during disaster response





  • Familiarity with radio, satellite, VOIP, and mobile communication systems





  • Knowledge of Incident Command System (ICS) structure and communication unit functions





  • Ability to train personnel in basic communications equipment use

  • Performance Location: On-site while on assignment (location TBD)





  • Relocation Assistance: Not applicable





  • Clearance Required: None





  • Travel Required: Yes - up to 100% while on assignment




Working Environment:

Work is performed in emergency operations centers (EOCs), field locations, and logistical staging areas. Extended hours and travel may be required throughout the continental United States and its territories during emergency response operations.
