The General Superintendent plays a pivotal role in the successful delivery of project execution at the site level. This position directs and coordinates all on-site activities throughout the project lifecycle, from field administration and procurement to construction supervision and field engineering. The General Superintendent ensures projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with Worley's promise to lead partners and societies toward a more sustainable future. This role requires proactive leadership, advanced technical expertise, and a collaborative mindset to integrate solutions that meet our customers' current and future needs. Key Responsibilities
- Lead On-Site Operations
Oversee all site-based project activities, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient execution. This includes managing construction, field engineering, procurement, and administration in alignment with project goals and Worley's commitment to sustainability. - Implement Project Execution Plans
Translate high-level project strategies into actionable field execution plans. Guide teams in applying systems and procedures that deliver project objectives while supporting sustainable project outcomes. - Drive Safety and Quality Standards
Champion a culture of safety and quality. Lead initiatives that exceed compliance expectations, ensuring the well-being of personnel and the integrity of work completed on-site. - Collaborate Across Disciplines
Partner with project management, engineering, procurement, and customer stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and alignment. Provide leadership that fosters collaboration and collective problem-solving. - Optimize Resources and Workforce
Manage and direct workforces either directly or through subordinate supervisors. Balance labor, materials, and logistics to optimize project resources while maintaining schedule and budget integrity. - Mentor and Develop Talent
Provide coaching and guidance to site teams, nurturing professional growth and technical capability. Encourage knowledge sharing to elevate the performance of individuals and the collective team. - Manage Change and Resolve Conflict
Identify opportunities for process improvement and lead change initiatives where appropriate. Apply advanced conflict resolution skills to promote positive outcomes in dynamic and challenging project environments. - Contribute to Continuous Improvement
Support the development and refinement of Worley's field systems, processes, and tools. Provide feedback and innovative ideas that help advance our data-centric, integrated project delivery approach.

- Education & Experience
- A university degree in a relevant discipline or a combination of trade qualifications with advanced training.
- Individuals with a degree typically possess over ten years of relevant site-based experience.
- Individuals with trade qualifications generally have over fifteen years of progressively responsible experience in field supervision or related roles.
- Leadership & Decision-Making
- Demonstrated ability to lead large, diverse field teams on medium to large-scale projects.
- Skilled in applying project execution plans while managing site operations with a focus on safety, quality, and productivity.
- Capable of making informed decisions in complex project environments, balancing risk, sustainability, and operational efficiency.
- Technical Proficiency
- Advanced understanding of field construction processes, safety programs, and resource management.
- Proficient in troubleshooting and guiding teams through technical challenges on-site.
- Experience using and contributing to the development of advanced systems, processes, and project tools.
- Communication & Collaboration
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust across all levels of an organization and with customers.
- Effective in preparing and presenting project updates, reports, and proposals.
- Skilled in negotiating, persuading, and resolving conflict constructively.
