The Center for Cancer Mentoring, Education, Leadership and Oncology-Related Training (CAMELOT) serves as the centralized hub fostering cancer research and education for all levels of learners and disseminating those opportunities across the university.

The Program Manager is a key administrative leader within the CAMELOT program, reporting to the Senior Director of Education, Training, and Growth at the OSUCCC and providing direct support to the Associate Director of CAMELOT. This role is responsible for managing critical projects and initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, and optimizing operational efficiency across the program.

The Program Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of CAMELOT, coordinating resources, systems, and communications to enhance program performance and impact. This position collaborates extensively with internal departmentsincluding Human Resources, Information Technology, Marketing, and student servicesas well as external stakeholders to advance the mission of CAMELOT and support the broader strategic goals of the OSUCCC.

Trainee Program Administration

  • Lead the planning, implementation, and evaluation of trainee programs in collaboration with internal and external partners.

  • Organize and document planning meetings; develop and maintain detailed project plans.

  • Coordinate program marketing efforts across academic institutions and internal OSUCCC channels.

  • Manage mentor recruitment and oversee the trainee application and selection process.

  • Serve as the hiring liaison in partnership with Human Resources; facilitate onboarding and administrative support for trainees.

  • Develop and maintain program schedules; coordinate logistics including room reservations, catering, materials preparation, and speaker engagement.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for trainees, providing support in onboarding, mentorship, career development, and networking.

  • Partner with RISSR to evaluate program outcomes and ensure continuous improvement.

  • Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for all trainees.

  • Provide resources, answers, and guidance to help trainees grow and develop.

  • Promote trainee programs through photography, social media, and updates to internal and external websites.

CAMELOT Program Administration

  • Support the Senior Director in scheduling and tracking new faculty through the CCC onboarding and recruitment process.

  • Process volunteer access and security credentials.

  • Manage administrative tasks including Workday travel requests, reimbursements, and payroll for both trainees and broader CAMELOT initiatives.

  • Maintain program visibility through archiving media, managing social media presence, and updating web content.

  • Collaborate with the CAMELOT team to support all programmatic and operational needs.

  • Travel to workshops, conference, seminars for trainee and CAMELOT representation or professional development.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Advanced degree in relevant field may be desirable. 4 years of relevant experience required, 4-8 years preferred. Proven experience in project management, preferably in an academic or healthcare setting. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across departments. Familiarity with HR processes, event planning, and program evaluation is highly desirable. Requires successful completion of a background check; qualified candidates may be asked to complete a pre-employment physical, including a drug screen.
