Description

The Sr. Principal Enterprise Architect provides strategic leadership and advanced technical expertise in designing and implementing enterprise-wide architecture solutions to drive business success. This role focuses on creating scalable, innovative architectures with a strong emphasis on portfolios in Cloud Adoption, Technology Enablement, Enterprise Integration, and Enterprise DevOps, while enabling AI-driven capabilities through tooling and integration within the AI Enablement space. The architect collaborates with stakeholders to align IT strategies with business goals, ensuring operational efficiency, agility, and a future-ready technology ecosystem.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and govern comprehensive enterprise architecture frameworks that aligns Cloud Adoption, Technology Enablement, Enterprise Integration, and Enterprise DevOps with business objectives.
  • Design cloud-native and hybrid cloud solutions, leveraging Azure services (e.g., Azure Kubernetes Service, Azure Functions, Azure iPaaS, Azure Databricks) to optimize cost, performance, and scalability, while incorporating other clouds (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud) as needed.
  • Architect enterprise integration needs with API-first strategies, microservices, and event-driven architectures, utilizing the Azure iPaaS platform (e.g., Azure API Management Azure Logic Apps, Azure Event Grid, etc.) to ensure seamless connectivity across systems and data sources.
  • Champion DevOps practices by designing CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), and observability solutions using Azure Monitor to accelerate delivery and ensure system reliability.
  • Drive enterprise-wide adoption of AI technologies by architecting scalable and secure solutions that integrate 3rd party AI technologies with business processes, enabling innovative capabilities like predictive analytics and intelligent automation while aligning with strategic enterprise architecture goals.
  • Create and maintain enterprise architecture models, blueprints, and repositories to ensure consistency and reusability across portfolios.
  • Advise on architecture strategies, methodologies, and governance processes to enhance innovation and agility, with a focus on best practices.
  • Engage with Business Relationship Managers (BRMs) to develop technology roadmaps that align with long-term business goals, prioritizing Azure adoption.
  • Oversee application operations, monitoring, and performance optimization with tools such as Dynatrace and Azure Application Insights to ensure high availability and compliance with security standards.
  • Implement security-by-design principles using Azure Security Center and Azure Sentinel, ensuring architectures meet regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
  • Share best practices and insights on emerging technologies, updating architecture requirements based on innovations and industry trends.
  • Lead proof-of-concept (PoC) initiatives to evaluate and validate new technologies

Experience and Skills

Experience: Minimum 12+ years of overall experience with 10+ years in IT architecture roles and at least 5 years in enterprise architecture leadership for large-scale organizations

Technical Expertise:



  • Advanced knowledge of Azure services (e.g., Azure Kubernetes Service, Azure API Management, Azure Machine Learning, Azure Monitor), with familiarity in other cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud).
  • Expertise in enterprise integration technologies (e.g., Azure Logic Apps, Apache Kafka) and API management platforms, with a focus on Azure API Management.
  • Proven experience designing DevOps pipelines, IaC (Azure Bicep, Terraform), and observability tools.
  • Knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman) and modeling tools (e.g., ArchiMate), with experience applying Azure Architecture Center principles.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML tooling and data platforms (e.g., Azure Databricks, Snowflake) to support AI Enablement.


Leadership and Strategic Skills:



  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional project teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong strategic planning and portfolio management skills to align IT with business goals


Communication and Collaboration:



  • Exceptional communication skills to articulate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to collaborate with Professional Services, outsourcing partners, and global teams.


Education:



  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field;
  • Master's degree or certifications (e.g., TOGAF, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert) preferred.


Preferred Skills:



  • Deep experience with Azure multi-cloud and hybrid cloud architectures.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001) and Azure's zero-trust models (e.g., Azure Active Directory).
  • Familiarity with agile and SAFe methodologies for enterprise delivery.

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD$126,500 -$241,700 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different base pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S. Benefits include access to healthcare benefits (including a premium-free medical plan option), a 401(k) plan and company match, an employee stock purchase plan, paid time off (including vacation, sick/wellness, parental leave), among others. Employees are eligible to participate in an incentive plan, and certain roles are also eligible for additional awards, including recognition and stock.
