SECURITY PATROL DRIVER

PAY RATE: $18.50 PER HOUR

CA DRIVERS LICENSE REQUIRED

MIN OF 1YR EXPERIENCE

We are seeking a vigilant and safety-focused Patrol Security Driver to provide security services at a refinery facility. This role involves conducting routine vehicle patrols of the site to ensure the safety and security of personnel, equipment, and property. Responsibilities include monitoring access points, inspecting perimeter fencing, responding to alarms or emergencies, and reporting any unusual or suspicious activity.

1. Mobile Patrol Operations

    Conduct regular vehicle patrols of the refinery grounds, perimeter, and restricted areas.

  • Ensure gates, fences, and security barriers are intact and secure.

  • Use patrol logs or electronic systems (e.g., Guard Tour) to document patrol activity.

2. Access Control Support
  • Monitor and assist at vehicle access points and checkpoints.

  • Verify identification, badges, and credentials of personnel and contractors.

  • Inspect vehicles for contraband or unauthorized materials when required.

3. Emergency Response
  • Respond immediately to alarms, incidents, or emergency calls (fires, chemical leaks, medical emergencies).

  • Assist in plant evacuation or lockdown procedures.

  • Coordinate with onsite fire, HAZMAT, or safety response teams.

4. Hazard Recognition
  • Monitor for safety hazards such as gas leaks, spills, or equipment malfunctions.

  • Report unsafe conditions to plant safety or maintenance personnel.

  • Ensure patrol routes avoid high-risk zones during active operations (e.g., hot work, flaring).

5. Surveillance & Observation
  • Observe and report suspicious activity involving personnel, vehicles, or equipment.

  • Monitor behavior of contractors and visitors for compliance with site safety and security policies.

  • Maintain situational awareness around sensitive assets or critical infrastructure (e.g., pipelines, storage tanks, control rooms).

6. Incident Reporting
  • Complete detailed written or digital reports on all incidents, observations, and actions taken.

  • Submit reports in accordance with company policy and shift turnover requirements.

  • Document any violations of company or regulatory safety/security protocols.

7. Traffic & Safety Control
  • Direct refinery vehicle traffic during peak hours or emergencies.

  • Ensure fire lanes and emergency routes remain clear at all times.

  • Support convoy or escort duties for deliveries of hazardous or high-value materials.

8. Communication & Coordination
  • Maintain constant radio or communication device contact with security dispatch and other patrol units.

  • Relay critical information to refinery operations, safety teams, and management.

  • Participate in shift briefings, drills, and training exercises.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of verifiable experience
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
