Position Summary:

Applied Training Solutions, LLC is seeking an experienced Deputy Finance/Admin Section Chief to support the Finance/Admin Section Chief in managing all financial, administrative, and cost analysis aspects of emergency incidents. This role assists with personnel timekeeping, lease negotiations, vendor contracts, claims processing, and incident cost tracking.

Key Responsibilities:




  • Assist the Finance/Admin Section Chief in coordinating all financial and administrative aspects of the incident.





  • Support the supervision of personnel responsible for tracking and recording staff time.





  • Assist with the preparation and negotiation of leases and service agreements.





  • Help manage vendor contracts and ensure compliance with procurement policies.





  • Support the administration and processing of incident-related claims.





  • Assist in tracking, analyzing, and reporting on incident costs.





  • Participate in audit preparation and cost recovery activities as required.




Basic Qualifications:




  • Minimum of 2 years of experience supporting financial and administrative operations in an emergency management or disaster response setting.





  • Strong knowledge of cost tracking, timekeeping systems, and vendor contract processes.





  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt quickly in fast-paced environments.





  • Excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills.





  • Must be a U.S. citizen.




Preferred Qualifications:




  • Experience supporting federally declared disaster responses or FEMA-coordinated incidents.





  • Familiarity with ICS (Incident Command System) structure and documentation.





  • Proficiency with cost analysis tools and incident management software.

  • Travel Required: Yes - up to 100% while on assignment




Working Environment:

The usual work environment is an office setting at a location determined by assignment. The role may involve occasional lifting of computers and equipment (generally not exceeding 50 lbs.), typically in connection with off-site transport. Travel regularly includes locations throughout the continental United States and its territories. Duties may involve extended work periods beyond 12 hours per day, work in outdoor/austere conditions, and prolonged driving to work sites.
