The Prescott Campus is seeking a dynamic and student-centered leader to serve as the Director of First Year Experience (FYE). This position plays a vital role in supporting the successful transition, retention, and academic achievement of first-year students by providing strategic leadership and operational oversight for all aspects of the First Year Experience.

The Director is responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating a comprehensive, immersive first-year program. A key component of this role includes serving as the faculty of record for UNIV 101 - College Success, a seminar course designed to help students develop the personal, interpersonal, academic, and social skills necessary for success in college.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate all FYE programs, services, and initiatives for first-year students on the Prescott Campus.

  • Serve as faculty of record for UNIV 101 and oversee course design, content delivery, and assessment.

  • Recruit, train, and supervise the Campus Academic Mentors (CAMs)-peer leaders who co-facilitate UNIV 101 and provide support for first-year students.

  • Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment that enhances student engagement, belonging, and academic success.

  • Collaborate with Academic Advising and campus partners to monitor student progress and develop strategies for early intervention and support.

  • Work with faculty and student services to strengthen the first-year support system and improve retention and persistence outcomes.

  • Actively participate in university committees, including serving on the campus CARES Team to support students of concern.

This position may require occasional long hours, evening, and weekend work to support programs and events.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Master's degree in Higher Education, Leadership, Student Affairs, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience working with college students, preferably in first-year experience programs, student success initiatives, or related areas.
  • Experience developing and implementing student programming, workshops, and/or curriculum that promote student success and retention.
  • Supervisory experience, especially with student staff or peer mentors.
  • Knowledge of issues facing first-year students, including academic transitions, mental health, and student engagement.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, presentation, administrative, organizational, and technology skills.

Preferred:

  • Teaching experience in a college/university setting.
  • Experience in assessment and data analysis for program improvement.
  • Familiarity with learning management systems and educational technology.
