*Description*
Your responsibilities will include leading contract negotiations, drafting contracts, managing publisher relationships, overseeing a contracts database, and serving as a point of contact for cross-functional teams to ensure the successful launch of books. The successful candidate will possess the ability to work efficiently and independently; manage high volumes of tasks and projects with little guidance; react with appropriate urgency to situations and events that require a quick response or turnaround; take effective action without having to know the total picture; and think creatively and be proactive in solving problems that affect people within the group or other related groups. The candidate will also be client-service oriented, have great attention to detail while still meeting tight deadlines, possess excellent organizational skills, and can easily switch gears. A high level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion in handling confidential information, as well as the ability to work well with people at all levels inside and outside the company, is essential. *Day to day: * - Expected to draft agreements off existing templates - Expected to use playbooks to negotiate terms - Expected to have a decent amount of negotiation experience - Drafting contracts, working directly with 3rd parties on negotiations (manage relationships and keep it positive) - Track their work in an Excel database for tracking where a contract is - In general, be a POC for editorial partners who are the ones in the making of these deals - Support other downstream teams - production/studios team for casting - Be able to pay close attention to detail while moving quickly - Speak internally to lots of different stakeholders and explain contractual terms to people who aren't used to contractual terms. *Qualifications:* - Experience in contract negotiation & management, including the ability to draft contracts - Strong written and oral communication skills are a must, as is the desire and aptitude for learning new concepts on the job. - Experienced and comfortable working with MS Office (including Excel and high proficiency in Microsoft Word), as well as Salesforce and SharePoint. *Preferred Qualifications*: - Contracts manager experience at a book publisher, literary agency, media retailer, or related field *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
