The Opportunity

AI workloads are transforming data center infrastructure, creating new challenges in high-speed interconnect interoperability and measurement. To meet this demand, the AI Infrastructure Solution Team is expanding-and we're seeking a dynamic and experienced Product Marketing Engineer to lead our strategy for physical layer test solutions in AI data centers. In this expert-level role, you'll shape our test portfolio and guide a team of planners focused on next-generation electrical and optical measurements using our industry-leading oscilloscopes, BERTs, and interconnect test equipment.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

As a Segment Lead, you will shape the direction of Keysight's AI Interconnect solutions portfolio-balancing strategic foresight with hands-on solution definition. You'll collaborate across business groups, influence product development, and serve as a trusted subject matter expert both internally and externally.

Segment & Portfolio Strategy
  • Market Intelligence & Opportunity Mapping: Monitor industry trends and identify emerging opportunities within the hyperscale ecosystem to inform strategic investments.
  • Portfolio Roadmap Leadership: Align planners across business groups to ensure portfolio cohesion, while identifying areas for innovation to sustain market leadership.
  • Thought Leadership & Messaging: Serve as a recognized subject matter expert by contributing to outbound marketing-developing positioning, delivering webinars, participating in industry events, and authoring web and technical content.
  • Field Enablement: Equip global field teams with messaging, use-case guidance, and training to drive solution adoption and engagement.
Solution Definition & Market Engagement
  • Test Solution Ownership: Define and drive IEEE/OIF Rx conformance test solutions from concept through launch, ensuring technical excellence and market relevance.
  • Customer Discovery & Co-Innovation: Engage with hyperscalers and ecosystem partners to understand evolving needs and develop differentiated, high-value solutions.
  • Requirements Leadership: Lead collaborative efforts to gather requirements, validate concepts through experimentation, and influence R&D priorities.
Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Team Guidance & Influence: Provide technical and strategic direction to a small team of planners, driving alignment and focus without direct authority.
  • Decision Facilitation: Navigate diverse perspectives and lead teams toward actionable, unified strategies through strong communication and structured decision-making.
  • Stakeholder Interface: Serve as a key interface between customers, R&D, sales, and business leadership-ensuring product direction aligns with evolving market dynamics and customer priorities.
Technical Evangelism & Pre-Sales Support
  • Application Expertise: Act as the primary application expert for N4917 Optical Stress Receiver and IEEE/OIF Rx test applications, providing pre-sales technical support and insights.
  • Standards & Measurement Science: Represent Keysight's technical leadership through conference presentations, standards contributions, and customer education materials.

Qualifications

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in product marketing, product planning, or solution engineering - ideally in high-speed digital, optical
  • Strong understanding of physical layer testing methodologies (Rx conformance, BER testing, jitter/timing analysis).
  • Proven ability to conduct in-depth interviews with customers to explore problem spaces and define new, innovative solutions.
  • Demonstrated engineering skills in prior roles, particularly in test and measurement.
  • Demonstrated skill and sustained interest in two or more of the disciplines listed below:
    • Test and Measurement instrumentation usage (Oscilloscope, Network Analyzer, Bit-Error Rate Tester, Optical Test Equipment, etc.)
    • Optical and/or electrical data signal generation and receiver technology.
    • Optical and/or electrical data transmission systems.
  • Exceptional organizational, written, and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to work with a diverse global team from many cultures and effectively lead discussions to align diverse viewpoints and finalize strategy.

Desired:

  • A Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent engineering major in optical systems & design with 10+ years of experience.
  • Understanding of Test and Measurement equipment Theory of Operation, and familiarity with Keysight platforms (e.g., UXR, M8050, M8199, DCA).
  • Evidence of ability to use business acumen to balance tradeoffs in measurement science development risk, market need timeline, and creation of sustained differentiating value from unique measurement capabilities.
  • Knowledge of modulation formats (e.g., PAM4, NRZ), linear drive optics, or co-packaged optics
  • Experience with the whole product lifecycle (proof of concept, design, prototype, verification, qualification, release).
  • Demonstrated experience in marketing or product management directly with Hyperscaler Cloud Service Providers as primary customers or within their supply chains.
  • Experience participating in industry standards working groups (IEEE, OIF, etc.).

USD $112,830.00 - USD $188,050.00 Year
