Job Description Summary

The Product Designer functions as the experience designer for a specific product and/or component(s) and partners with product and supports design leadership in the crafting of intuitive experience designs aligned with business and user goals.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Assists in the creation of engaging, simple to use solutions based on user needs, business goals and design principles

  • Develops solutions rapidly based on research and competitive insights, analytics, user feedback, and technical constraints

  • Participates in design solutioning workshops, supporting design leadership.

  • Participates in competitive and comparative evaluations

  • Stays current on end user and customer dynamics via regular engagement

  • Seeks out opportunities to further develop one's own design skills and business expertise.

  • Works alongside and with strategic partners and vendors in a "one team" model

  • Collaborates and partners effectively as part of the larger product team

  • Establishes and maintains productive and collaborative relationships with colleagues and peers, including product, engineering and business stakeholders

  • Embraces diversity of thought and perspective as vital inputs to the design effort.

Requirements: Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with a High School diploma

  • One to 3 years of work experience as a User Experience Designer, Service Designer, or Product Designer participating in product design from concept to production

  • Demonstrable track record of hands-on experience design, including a portfolio and/or work samples of your capability to design engaging and intuitive experiences

  • Advanced collaboration, organization, and project coordination skills

  • Familiarity with qualitative and quantitative user research methods and techniques including contextual inquiry, moderated usability testing, and surveys

  • Quick starter and nimble/creative under project and time constraints

  • Passion for learning new technologies and design skills

  • Advanced knowledge of Figma preferred

  • Service design experience preferred

Physical Demands:

Must be able to bend, squat, crouch and/or reach and lift up to 25 pounds or more, as required by the job. Some Sunbelt jobs may require driving for long periods of time, loading and unloading heavy equipment, performing work in extreme weather conditions including rain, wind or excessive temperatures and/or night and weekend work. All duties must be performed according to Sunbelt's safety policies and guidelines. Reasonable accommodations may be made to comply with ADA/ADAAA.

Base Pay Range: $73,040.00 - 100,430.00

Sunbelt also provides a comprehensive benefits package to its full-time employees. This package includes health, dental and vision plans, 401(k), volunteer time off, short-term and long-term disability, accident, life and travel insurance, as well as flexible spending, tuition reimbursement, college savings, EAP and length of service awards. You will become eligible for benefits on the first of the month following 30 days from your start date. Sunbelt offers team members the following time off from work, subject to Sunbelt's policies: twelve to twenty-five vacation days depending on years of service; five sick days; six paid holidays, two paid half day holidays, two floating holidays, one inclusion day, and one volunteer day (unless specified in a collective bargaining agreement).
