Role Summary:
Reporting to the Division Manager, the Inside Sales & Service Manager is a key member of the Merlo Energy team. This position is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the inside sales and service departments, ensuring efficient sales processes, and managing a team of Inside Sales Representatives and Service Technicians. The person in this role will set sales targets, develop strategies to achieve them, and collaborate with other departments to support overall business goals. The Inside Sales & Service Manager will also focus on team development, providing training and motivation to achieve high performance.

The essential duties and responsibilities of the Inside Sales & Service Manager position will consist of, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Develop and implement sales processes for the inside sales and services teams
  • Prepare and execute inside sales/Service training programs to grow inside sales technical capabilities
  • Maintain and grow customer sales and gross profits to meet Company growth objectives
  • Managing order entry process into Eclipse business system and document all transactions in accordance with Company quality system and procedures
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key accounts and vendors
  • Initiate workable solutions for customer issues/problems and ensure effective and long-term problem resolution
  • Stay current on new and evolving product offerings; utilize knowledge in selling activities
  • Provide input to Division Manager on current market conditions significant opportunities for growth and changing customer dynamics
  • Coordinate department projects to meet deadlines
  • Evaluate stock levels and make inventory adjustments
  • Collaborate with Marketing to ensure brand consistency and increase sales
  • Evaluate and analyze competitive products and prices and provide reporting
  • Demonstrates leadership of company Quality and Service Excellence initiatives
  • Maintain quality service by adhering to Kendall policy, procedures, and standards
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned

What you'll need:


  • Work Experience: 5 years of experience in inside sales, customer service, or a related role within the company or a similar industry, proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales goals and performance metrics, demonstrated ability to lead by example, with informal leadership experience or team mentorship
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of skills and experience
  • Analytics/Computer Skills: Experience working with MS Office; strong analytical skills
  • Organization Skills: Highly organized and detail-oriented; ability to multi-task and shift priorities as needed; ability to work in a fast-paced, continuously evolving, and at times ambiguous environment
  • Cross-functional skills: Ability to work well cross-functionally; provides excellent internal and external customer service
  • Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal communications, problem solving, organizational and written/verbal communication skills

  • Travel: Must be able to travel 20% of the time; occasional overnight travel


Qualifications we prefer but don't require:


  • Work Experience: Previous inside sales, preferably with a related product line, or with end users in an industrial or technical environment; experience managing/supervising or supporting a direct sales force; prior experience training, coaching, or onboarding new team members, familiarity with CRM systems, order entry platforms, and sales reporting tools
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in sales or business administration
