JOB SUMMARY Coordinate daily operations in the pilot plant to produce the scheduled trials, keeping the manager informed as to the status of various trial conditions during production. Performing daily assignments within the plant including equipment operation, and in process troubleshooting in compliance with established safety standards and Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMP's). Position will be required to operate a variety of process within the Pilot Plant or work area. This could include but not excluding operating Retorts, Aseptic Process, Aseptic Fillers, Hot Fill Hold Pasteurizers, Pouch Filler, and all associated food processing equipment. Assists engineering with upgrades to existing technologies and implements new technologies that help achieve business initiatives. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Train Technicians in the Pilot Plant to perform standard duties involving the operation, sanitation, and set up of equipment. Accurately operate, disassemble, assemble, and clean equipment according to SOP. The Lead will ensure all aspects of setup and operation in the Processing / Filling Line and its associated ancillary equipment for daily production in the Pilot Plant is complete. The Lead will also be responsible for coordinating the cleaning and sterilization of all equipment associated with the daily trial. They ensure efficient operation of the manufacturing line by continuously monitoring output and identifying negative trends. Follow and uphold all Food Safety, Food Quality, Occupational Safety, Health and Environment policies as pertains to role. Conduct routine tests on Pilot Plant floor, collect and submit data. May be expected to submit samples to analytical for laboratory analysis. Conduct routine packaging tests and inspections on Pilot Plant floor using package integrity equipment (peel, burst, leak, headspace O2 QUALIFICATIONS: Associates degree and 3-5 years' experience; food & beverage industry highly preferred; concentration in aseptic highly preferred. Advanced technical or vocational training in equipment Experience in driving small team activities.
