  • We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Research to join our dynamic and collaborative basic science research lab focused on peripheral nerve biology, injury, and regeneration in the Department of Plastic amp; Reconstructive Surgery. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving bench-based research, supporting ongoing projects, and contributing to the development of novel experimental approaches aimed at advancing our understanding of peripheral nerve structure and function in health and disease.

  • Design, conduct, and troubleshoot complex experiments involving molecular biology, cell culture, and animal models related to peripheral nerve research (~ 35% of the time).

  • Perform and analyze a range of techniques, including immunohistochemistry, histology, microscopy (confocal/fluorescent), qPCR, Western blotting, and electrophysiology.

  • Manage and maintain transgenic mouse colonies, including genotyping and surgical procedures in nerve injury models. (~15% of the time)

  • Collect, manage, and interpret experimental data; maintain detailed laboratory notebooks and records. (~15% of the time)

  • Collaborate with the PI and other team members to analyze results and contribute to manuscript writing, grant proposals, and conference presentations. (~10% of the time)

  • Train and mentor junior lab members, including research assistants, technicians, and students. (~10% of the time)

  • Ensure compliance with institutional, federal, and ethical regulations regarding laboratory safety and animal research. (~10% of the time)

  • Coordinate with core facilities, vendors, and collaborators to support lab operations and research goals. (~5% of the time)
