Job Description:
The Lead Engineering Technician is responsible for the design, development and fabrication / procurement of electronic test equipment required during research and development of new product development programs, and the sustaining engineering of test equipment on the production floor. This role works with the Engineering and Industrialization teams to ensure electronic test equipment is appropriately designed and built according to program requirements and ensuring the maintenance of these equipment and its functionality to support ATP testing. Directly supports the production floor in the sustaining and safe operations of the electronic test equipment. Works with suppliers and vendors for procurement, maintenance services to the test equipment, and supports maintenance and storage protocols of all electronic equipment.

Summary of Duties:
1. Work with the Engineering and Industrialization teams to ensure electronic test equipment, tooling, jigs, fixtures, and special gauges for specific product types are designed and implemented to meet program requirements.
2. Supports the specification, design, fabrication / procurement and commissioning of new equipment to support program objectives of delivery, cost, quality and safety.
3. Directly supports the production lines in troubleshooting and resolving electronic testing equipment issues and maintenance needs, such as test box repair, wire harness fabrication and repair, coordinating outside services for equipment review and repair.
4. Ensures tooling maintenance and storage protocols and verify plans for all equipment in accordance with Cabin tooling standards.
5. Collaborate with other engineering disciplines and supply chain to procure equipment to support program requirements, or to procure necessary components for in-house fabrication of the test equipment.
6. Coordinate with Facilities and Industrialization teams to ensure that necessary production floor space and support are available for the commissioning of new test equipment.
7. Leads smaller projects in the maintenance and spare parts inventory of electronic testing equipment and its components to support production sustaining engineering.
8. Maintenance and upkeep of the Industrialization Tooling and Testing room.
9. Fundamental application of design, development, procurement, maintenance and storage procedures.
10. Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Education: Minimum of High School education.

Experience: Up to 15 years related experience in highly regulated engineering design or production environment, with electronics focus. Experience in functions such as Quality, Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, and Engineering are desired.

Computer Skills:
* Understanding of ERP systems
* Working knowledge of applications in design and development of circuit diagrams and tooling / jigs / test equipment
* Working knowledge of equipment maintenance applications (e.g. eMaintenance)
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Other Skills:
* Experience working at electronics, automobile, aerospace, space OEMs
* Significant knowledge and hands-on experience in electronics and electrical circuitry
* Working knowledge of primary processes like soldering, wire harness fabrication, test box fabrication.
* Prior experience in other Operations related functions such as Quality, Manufacturing Engineering
* Proven ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and models
* Use of LEAN tools like VSM and 5S
* Proven organization and communication skills
* Ability to work well independently and cross-functionally with minimal oversight.
* Strong communication, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
* Prior supervisory experience is a plus
* IPC certifications are desired
* Certification in soldering work (IPC specifications) is desired

1. Does require fluent communication in English language.

3. Protracted or irregular hours may be required.
