Description
Production Water Spider The water spider is the link between warehousing and production operations and facilitates inter-department communication. Ensures all raw materials arrive on the production floor in a "production ready state" by providing timely and accurate production line material replenishment to increase production productivity/lessen interruptions. Under general guidance and direction, competently performs one or more functions which may include stocking, picking, cycle counts, organizing inventory, JDE system transactions and/or performing clean up. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES May perform any or all of the following:
- Reads and follows all processes related to material replenishment and presentation.
- Monitors production needs to provide a steady flow of production materials using standard processes to increase production efficiencies and lower line interruptions. Meets established production and quality goals efficiently and accurately.
- Orders raw materials for line side kanban racks utilizing paper ordering forms or electronic systems. Communicates with warehouse team to schedule the delivery of pallet quantities of materials. May assist the warehouse in performing picking and packing as required to pull needed materials.
- Delivers stock to various workstations including verifying inventory accurate part identifications and quantities.
- Unboxes/unpackages raw materials and places the materials in production ready bins. Discard trash from work centers into proper bins.
- Maintains 5S standards by organizing bins, labels, and relevant floor signage.
- Utilizes the ERP system, JD Edwards to systematically transfer materials and subassemblies.
- Assists warehouse team with periodic cycle counts of materials.
- Continuously identifies and proposes procedures and processes to improve service, safety, and profitability.
- Maintains a safe and clean work environment by cleaning the shipping and receiving floor, emptying trash, preparing, and moving empty boxes for trash and setting all trash out for pickup. Adheres to all safety procedures.
- Maintains good relationships with team members and cross-functional departments. Apply initiative to help meet company goals, as well as help to move the company forward.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Education: High school education or equivalent. Experience: Typically requires 1 year of experience in performing one or more general industrial functions KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Demonstrated attention to detail, good planning and time management skills, great listening skills, and the ability to handle shifting priorities.
- Ability to accurately complete repetitive tasks with limited direction from a supervisor.
- Ability to follow all policies, procedures, and OSHA regulations.
- Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Basic computer skills to track and log information into computer systems and Microsoft Outlook (or similar email applications).
- Good verbal and written communication skills to effectively work with a variety of individuals including direct and written communication to material handlers and production employees to provide information and ensure accurate production flow.
- Ability to work flexible hours and overtime as needed (requirement varies by location).
- Demonstrated ability to safely lift 50 pounds.
- Utilizes proper techniques for lifting, packing, and unpacking, handling heavy objects, climbing ladders and pushing/pulling.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for prolonged periods.
- Ability to frequently use repetitive motions of the wrist, hands, and/or fingers.
- Hourly compensation $18.50 - $22.00.
