Overview
Working with others at Aggie Print and Mail to produce t-shirts and other apparel used on and off campus. Screen printing experience would be useful, but if you are looking to learn a new skill then take a closer look at this opportunity. Activities include; operating automated screen press, digital garment printer, bindery equipment, etc.

Working hours are generally 8am - 5pm, flexibility needed to meet time sensitive deadlines.

Responsibilities
  • Operate automated screen press; including outputting film, preparing and reclaiming screens, maintain press, etc.
  • Monitoring supply costs, usage, and quality of supplies consumed in press area.
  • Work with vendors to stay informed of new materials and evaluating new materials for use in production at PDP to lower costs and improve quality.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends for new production methods, and equipment to lower costs and improve quality or offer new products to Aggie Print customers.
  • Monitor inventory usage trends for setting maximum and minimum inventory levels to ensure adequate inventory of supplies are available for production.
  • Monitor inventory usage trends to ensure that as changes in customer usage preferences change inventories levels are reduced or removed as stocking items and new items are added as needed.
  • Makes or recommends purchases to meet the needs of production and operational efficiency.
  • Participates in training, work allocation, quality assurance, and inventory control.
  • Trains and informs part-time employees on new work methods or procedures, safety regulations, work policies.
  • Works with Director to ensure that customer needs are being met and works to continuously improve the process.
  • Performs labor and maintenance duties as a working member of the department.
  • Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned throughout operations at Aggie Print and Mail.
  • Participates in discussions concerning new equipment for digital, offset print, screen printing, mailing, and bindery areas.
  • Positive attitude, willing to learn new things, willing to manage and be managed.


Qualifications
Minimum Qualification:
  • A good attitude and willing to learn new skills.

Preferred Qualification:
  • Experience operating a screen press.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Must be able to plan and direct small operations.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with co-workers, management and customers.
  • Must be able to provide quality customer service.
  • Ability to work with staff, including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
  • Willing to learn.
  • Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of proper safety guidelines, policies, procedures, and behaviors as established by OSHA USU, and PDP.

ADA
Standing for long periods of time while working at press. Lifting boxes of shirts - can be up to 50 lbs. Bending over, kneeling on the ground, getting into some tight places while performing maintenance, etc. Requires an eye for detail for color and accuracy.
