Position Summary

Under minimal supervision, the Pharmacy Technician Supervisor is responsible for oversight of the efficient and accurate provision of medications according to established standards of practice. Coordinates technician-defined activities, i.e. unit dose (UD) distribution, IV admixture compounding, purchasing, controlled substances, OR drug preparation, pharmacy automation, investigational drug services, and inventory control. Under the direction of the Pharmacy Director and/or Inpatient Manager, assists in the supervision, scheduling, payroll maintenance, administration of disciplinary action, and evaluation of technical personnel. Participates in recruitment activities and decisions to hire or terminate. Coordinates training; provides training/in-services in specialty areas. Initiates performance improvement to increase the scope and quality of pharmacy services and customer service. Performs the duties of a technician when required.

Qualifications:




  • Educations: A minimum of a High School diploma, GED, Certificate of Completion or equivalent achievement is required. Bachelor's degree preferred.

    Experience: 8 years equivalent experience is required or 3-5 years of experience in the field with accompanying bachelor's degree.


  • Florida Board of Pharmacy Registered Pharmacy Technician
  • Analytical ability to solve problems in assigned area(s), diagnose equipment problems and to recognize and correct potential errors. Excellent prioritization and customer service skills are required. Interpersonal skills necessary for obtaining, verifying and exchanging information with pharmacy, medical, nursing and other allied health staff.

Salary Range: Minimum $24.95/hour - Maximum $39.92/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
