Job Summary: The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for developing and managing Langley Federal Credit Union's hybrid cloud environments, with a primary focus on Azure. This position entails evaluating, recommending, designing, and implementing cloud architecture solutions. Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities:
- Designs, deploys, scales, and maintains solutions within Microsoft Azure Cloud Infrastructure to achieve organizational goals and projects.
- Collaborates with other department technology team members to architect solutions.
- Serves as Subject Matter Expert (SME) on Microsoft Azure cloud architecture.
- Ensures compliance with relevant industry and security standards.
- Conducts research and implements new technologies.
- Develops and maintains operational documentation and procedures.
- Supports the development and implementation of the technology direction, vision, and strategy to facilitate Cloud technology adoption.
- Develops, enhances, and maintains automation of cloud enablement tools.
- Coordinates with internal associates and external vendors to plan and execute projects.
- Performs vulnerability management tasks for resources in all cloud environments in collaboration with the Information Security Team.
- Troubleshoots connectivity, application performance, and monitoring tool issues in complex distributed environments pertaining to all cloud solutions.
- Acts as an escalation point for staff between on-premises and cloud services.
- Develops a strategy for cloud monitoring and availability through tools and on-call rotation.
Qualifications:
- MUST WORK ON SITE FROM CORPORATE OFFICE in Newport News, VA.
- Bachelor's degree in information technology or equivalent training and experience required.
- Five years of relevant experience or a master's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum two years of experience required in:
- Cloud and Hybrid Architectures
- Microsoft Azure Services: architecting and delivering solutions using various Azure platform services
- Azure Networking: vNet planning, vWAN, vHub, ExpressRoute, VPN, network security groups, load balancing
- Azure infrastructure: virtual machines, storage, monitoring, automation, software-defined infrastructure
- Managing Azure Active Directory
- Creating detailed implementation/as-installed documentation
- Proven experience in migrating on-premises solutions to the cloud.
- Expertise in Microsoft on-premises and cloud solutions.
- Solid understanding of networking principles.
- Azure Solutions Architect Expert or similar certification preferred.
