Position Summary: Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson (JMT) is seeking a part-time Archaeological Field Technician to assist with monitoring, Phase I, Phase II, and Phase III archaeological investigations, as needed. A bachelor's degree in anthropology or a related field and a field school are required. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern United States. Candidate must be available for non-local travel. This position is not eligible for employer-based sponsorship with the exception of the TN visa classification. Pay range is $20 to $25 an hour, with overtime paid at time and a half. This position is remote and is 95% precent fieldwork. Lodging (individual hotel room) and per diem will be provided and/or reimbursed. Mileage to and from the project, project area, and drive time will also be compensated. Working Conditions Work is performed in the field 95% of the time. Ability to extensively perform bending, kneeling, standing, shoveling, and lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 50 lbs as needed. Work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Work is performed within a general office environment 5% of the time. Office work is generally sedentary in nature but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
