Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Solutions Engineer with a strong background in Bioinformatics to support our sales and customer engagement efforts. This hybrid technical and customer-facing role will involve partnering with the sales team to deliver tailored solutions for clients in the biotech, pharma, and research sectors. The ideal candidate will combine deep domain expertise in bioinformatics with strong communication skills and technical acumen. Key Responsibilities: * Pre-Sales Support: Collaborate with account executives to understand customer needs, present solutions, and demonstrate products tailored to bioinformatics workflows. * Technical Demos & POCs: Develop and deliver compelling product demonstrations, proof-of-concepts (POCs), and pilot projects that address customers' scientific and data challenges. * Solution Design: Architect and recommend end-to-end bioinformatics workflows and platforms that integrate with customer environments (e.g., sequencing pipelines, data analysis, cloud infrastructure). * Customer Engagement: Act as a trusted advisor to prospective and existing clients, translating scientific needs into technical solutions and providing feedback to product and engineering teams. * Proposal Development: Assist in the creation of technical proposals, RFP responses, and other sales collateral. * Training & Enablement: Support onboarding and training sessions for customers and internal teams on bioinformatics tools and platforms. * Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with Product Management, Engineering, and Customer Success to ensure solutions are aligned with customer expectations and roadmaps. QualificationsRequired Qualifications: * Bachelor's or Master's degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, or related field. PhD is a plus. * 3+ years of experience in a bioinformatics, solutions engineering, or pre-sales role, preferably in a SaaS, biotech, or life sciences technology company. * Strong understanding of bioinformatics tools and pipelines (e.g., NGS, variant calling, transcriptomics, single-cell analysis). * Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, R, Bash) and common data formats (e.g., FASTQ, BAM, VCF). * Knowledge of cloud computing environments (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and workflow management systems (e.g., Nextflow, Snakemake, WDL/Cromwell). * Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex scientific and technical topics to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. * Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deliver under pressure in a fast-paced environment. ' Preferred Qualifications: * Experience working with enterprise customers in the biotech, pharma, or academic research sectors. * Experience with LIMS, ELNs, or data visualization platforms. * Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR) in biomedical data management. Salary and Other Compensation: The annual base salary for this position is $145,000- 155,000 with an additional annual bonus component.. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
