Your responsibilities
Job Summary To coach and otherwise guide a team of employees involved in all aspects of shipping and receiving functions as defined by the organization, achieving optimum levels of quality and productivity while meeting operational deadlines and budgets. This typically includes recruiting and hiring qualified employees and ensuring that they receive all necessary training and education. Additionally, the supervisor is responsible for maintaining a motivational work environment through appropriate goal-setting, operating principles, communication, and fair treatment of all employees. As necessary, the supervisor must take action to correct poor performance and/or poor behavior that puts the employee or team at risk or impacts the team's ability to achieve its objectives. Now Hiring: 1st Shift Shipping & Receiving Supervisor - $25/hr

Location: Franklin, WI
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (OT as needed)

Are you an experienced shipping and receiving professional who thrives on structure, safety, and leadership? We are looking for a 1st Shift Shipping and Receiving Supervisor who can take ownership of our S/R operations and lead with confidence, accuracy, and integrity.

What You'll Do:
  • Supervise and coordinate the team handling all incoming and outgoing shipments.

  • Ensure packaging, labeling, and shipment quality meet strict accuracy and safety standards.

  • Review and process key documents (shipping notices, BOLs, invoices, orders) to prioritize workflow and determine appropriate shipping methods.

  • Oversee international shipments and ensure compliance with all regulatory documentation requirements.

  • Hire, train, coach, and evaluate warehouse staff.

  • Set work priorities, assign responsibilities, and manage day-to-day logistics activities.

  • Conduct employee performance reviews and manage disciplinary actions when necessary.

  • Maintain a safe, organized, and productive warehouse environment.

  • Monitor safety conditions regularly and take immediate action when needed.

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely communication and problem-solving.

  • Handle documentation, reporting, and administrative tasks with accuracy and efficiency.

  • Work directly on the warehouse floor in a fast-paced environment around heavy machinery.

What You Bring:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)

  • 2-3 years of supervisory experience in shipping/receiving or a related field

  • Strong computer skills and SAP experience (required)

  • Previous warehouse experience (including forklift, packing, and measurement tools)

  • Demonstrated leadership and team-building skills in any setting

  • Strong attention to detail and a policy/procedure-driven mindset

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

  • Safety-first attitude with awareness of best practices

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree

  • Familiarity with metals processing and shipping

  • CPR and First Aid training

  • Exposure to labor relations, ISO standards, lean practices, and safety programs
