DESCRIPTION

Supervises OR support supervisors, and leads first-line anesthesia technicians. May also supervise equipment technicians and patient care assistants. In conjunction with subordinate supervisors / leads, assesses staff competencies and establishes improvements to workflows. Actively promotes staff development in clinical / technical areas. Works with management to meet budget targets, continually seeks operational improvements and revenue enhancements.Provides direct supervision typically to professionals or skilled technical employees. Functions as advisor to unit and administration. Analyzes and resolves problems, interprets policies (e.g., fiscal management, HR, contracts and grants, resource management in defined areas) and demonstrates solid subject matter knowledge. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and policies to determine appropriate action. Supervises staff to assure accountability and stewardship of department resources (operational, financial, and human) in compliance with departmental goals and objectives.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
  • Five (5) or more years of relevant experience.
  • Solid skills to quickly evaluate complex issues and identify resolutions within defined procedures and policies. Demonstrated ability to solve problems and suggest solutions through critical thinking process.
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills to explain technical anesthesia concepts, actively listen, persuade, advise, and counsel.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Cer.A.T. certification from the American Society of Anesthesia Technologists and Technicians(ASATT) preferred.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
  • Must float to Main OR and take call as needed.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $85,400 - $156,800 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $40.90 - $75.10

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
