Are you energetic, caring, and love working with kids? Luckett's Community Center is looking for a Part-Time Preschool Aide to join our team! This 10-month position supports our preschool program by helping create a safe, fun, and engaging environment where young children can learn through play, creativity, and exploration using STREAMin3 curriculum. As a Preschool Aide, you'll assist the lead teacher with daily learning activities including arts and crafts, music, games, story time and some special events. You'll help keep the classroom running smoothly, support lesson plans, and build positive connections with children and their families. Every day is a new adventure!

We are seeking an individual who takes pleasure in engaging with young children aged 3 to 5, possesses excellent communication and collaboration abilities, demonstrates patience, reliability, and adaptability, and appreciates each child's distinct personality and learning approach. While experience in early childhood education is required, a positive demeanor and a passion for working with children are of utmost importance!

We are currently hiring for the following location(s):
* Luckett's Community Center, Leesburg, VA

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Supervises children's actions, communication, and involvement in program activities.
* Interacts with parents, staff, and individuals associated with the school site.
* Provides support, encouragement, and interaction with children during classroom activities; involves children in exploration and play; and aids children with their self-care requirements.
* Observes the activities of preschool children.
* May carry out additional critical job responsibilities pertinent to the specific role and departmental assignment.

High School diploma or equivalent; six months of programming experience with children.

Preferred Qualifications:
* Child Development Associate (CDA) certificate.
* Knowledge of childhood development.
* Ability to learn program requirements quickly.
* Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions accurately.
* Ability to design developmentally appropriate activities for preschool children.
* Bi-lingual is plus.

*Complete education and experience requirements to meet Virginia license requirements for the position.*

Must undergo fingerprinting, criminal background and Child Protective Services (CPS) background checks. A sworn disclosure statement or affirmation must be completed annually, disclosing any criminal convictions or any pending criminal charges. It is required to obtain certification in CPR and First Aid within 30 days of employment. Within 30 days of starting date, and then bi-annually thereafter, employees must pass a TB screening/test. MAT training will need to be completed within 90 days of hire.
