  • Shift: 10:00 am - 6:00 pm Monday-Friday
  • Estimated annual base pay:
  • Level II: $27.15-$40.73 hourly
  • 5% shift differential

Are you ready to make your mark? If you are interested in becoming a CNC Programmer at Woodward, we have an exciting opportunity for you!

The CNC Programmer is responsible for programming multi-axis CNC machines to produce moderate to complex components in a large, diverse machine shop with high mix, low volume production rates.

What you will be doing...

  • Create and modify simple to moderate complexity CNC programs using CAM software
  • Edit existing programs to improve efficiency in cycle time and tool life
  • Observe and troubleshoot machine first-runs to ensure program quality and robustness
  • Support design reviews on part drawings and models for part manufacturability during development
  • Make recommendations to improve part manufacturability
  • Research and select proper CNC cutting tools based on the materials being used, surface finish requirements and tolerances.
  • Create and maintain cutting tool packages
  • Mentor and provide guidance to Level I CNC Programmers

What we are looking for...

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of experience with CNC Programming
  • Solid knowledge of CNC machine operations including setup, programming and controls
  • Solid knowledge of cutting tools, tool holders and workpiece clamping devices
  • Solid knowledge of CAD/CAM software
  • Solid knowledge of print reading
  • Solid knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) including the ability to interpret tolerances on prints
  • Solid knowledge of materials
  • Solid knowledge of inspection equipment and gages
  • Solid understanding of manual and CNC equipment
  • Solid math skills (including fractions, decimals, arithmetic computations, material removal rates, trigonometry)

This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
