Daikin Applied is seeking a Controls Engineering Intern in our Washington DC office! During the Controls Engineering Internship, you will be assigned specific projects within the Controls group of Daikin Applied's Washington DC area service office. This experience will help you gain a better understanding of Daikin Applied and career opportunities at a leading global HVAC corporation. Location: In office in Washington DC area office (Bowie, MD)

Timeline: This internship is for Summer 2025 (June - August)

What you will do:



  • Work with the controls engineering team to research and analyze data such as customer design drawings, specifications, and on-site conditions to determine feasibility of design or application
  • Assist the controls engineering team with site surveys and the development and production of automatic temperature control (ATC) drawings and submittals
  • Partner with controls technicians in the field to assist with the deployment of active controls projects
  • Work with the controls programming team to develop databases, programs and user interfaces for active controls projects

Minimum Qualifications:



  • Sophomore, Junior or Senior pursuing a bachelor's degree who is currently enrolled in an accredited degree program in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
  • Experience in the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
  • Ability to commute to the Bowie, MD office without relocation


Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

The typical hourly pay rate for this position is $27.00 per hour in Maryland. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
