SUMMARY

The Senior Manager, Pharmacy Distribution Operations is a hands-on leader responsible for general operations of the Commercial Pharmacy Facility located in Omaha, NE. The Director of Operations will also work collaboratively with the Pharmacist in Charge and the Pharmacy team to manage the day-to-day fulfillment activities at the Omaha facility. The Director will be responsible for general operations including driving innovative initiatives in workflow efficiencies and automation, quality control, management, and monitoring the roles, activities, and procedures necessary to ensure safe and timely processing of client orders. As leader of Covetrus GPM's highest volume fulfillment facility, the Omaha Director of Operations assists in driving network-wide process improvement initiatives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Set the overall vision and strategic plan for Customer Service and Fulfillment operations to drive increased efficiency and responsiveness.
  • Execute strategic business objectives that synchronize supply and demand, reduce fulfillment cycle times, order aging, transit times and issue resolution.
  • Tactically manage labor, staffing/hiring and work schedule to maximize KPI levels while minimizing COGs components.
  • Work with Pharmacy teams and other internal partners to revolutionize the way work is done across all GPM fulfillment centers, including state-of-the-art automation.
  • Identify and lead efforts to minimize preventable losses due to excess supply and obsolescence.
  • Work closely with internal business stakeholders to ensure fully qualified supply chain, fulfillment, and service readiness for new product launches in concert with our manufacturer partners. Working closely with Covetrus sales team to forecast production needs and manage our supply chain to ensure timely delivery of our products.
  • Ensure facility operations are in compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements (i.e., OSHA, FDA, Nebraska Board of Pharmacy).
  • Enable Omaha fulfillment and contact center operations teams to provide network-wide shared services (controlled substance and high-touch SKU dispensing).
  • Lead and drive (in collaboration with internal teams) continuous process improvement, lean operations, quality improvement, and capacity expansion in our GPM operations.
  • Serve as main contact during inspections.
  • Identify and develop talent with intent to maximize individual and team effectiveness in order to meet/exceed company goals.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage multidisciplinary operations at the Omaha, NE Covetrus facility.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant discipline (i.e., Business, Management, Pharmacy, Engineering, Food Sciences, Operations) required.
  • 7+ years proven distribution center operations management and leadership experience, preferably within the pharmaceutical or manufacturing industry.
  • Pharmaceutical experience is a definite plus.

  • Successful candidates will have proven production and fulfillment experience and success in a pharmaceutical, food, or nutraceutical processing and packaging environment.   • Inherently sound human resource values and problem resolution skills in combination with a history of strong leadership skills and talent development of direct reports

  • Possess the financial acumen to manage, measure, and improve the operation's effectiveness and profitability.
  • Ability to extract insights from data and be able to clearly communicate those insights to executive management.
  • Ability to effectively influence and work in cooperation with cross functional teams.
  • Demonstrated accomplishment in continuous improvement/lean tools (i.e., Six Sigma, 5S, Lean Manufacturing) to drive improvements is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in managing and improving plant operations, employee safety, quality, and packaging for consumers.
  • Effective communication, presentation, and teamwork skills at every level of the organization
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-growth environment, and flexibility to take on new and added responsibilities in alignment with our rapidly expanding business needs.
