*TEKsystems is seeking an experienced RPG Programmer on a contract to hire basis in Boise, ID.*
*This is W2 employment. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US for any employer without sponsorship.* *This role can sit remotely during the contract duration but must be on-site once converted to a full time employee. (relocation assistance may be available)* *Description* As an RPG programmer, you create or enhance software and programs using RPG. Your work will be focused on supply chain applications. You might also create business or process models for new systems to be developed in the future. *Responsibilities*: * Create libraries of routines and utilities * Write programs using RPG syntax and code to create objects, reports, forms, menus, dialogue boxes, macros, procedures, and other items for use with a database system * Debug programs and troubleshoot problems with existing systems * Retest programs after making changes * Keep up with changing programming trends in the field of RPG *RPG Developer Skills & Qualifications* * A bachelor's degree in computer science * Experience working with RPG as a developer * 5+ years of experience in RPG programming and design * Proficiency with RPG, SQL * Knowledge of programming practices and techniques, especially in designing, coding, testing and debugging applications, including the ability to write code that is efficient, easy to read and maintainable * Proven understanding of relational database concepts and principles * Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment *Top Required Skills:* * RPG * AS/400 * SQL * Python *Additional Skills & Qualifications* Supply chain experience is beneficial but not required *Experience Level* Expert Level *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $60.00/hr.
