Responsibilities:



  • Be a safety leader - be an active participant in management Gemba Walks and any investigations as needed. Drive a safety culture
  • In conjunction with quality assurance staff, inspect and measure products to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Troubleshoot product quality issues and develop countermeasures as necessary
  • Lead daily production huddles and provide direction to the frontline team
  • Coordinate and plans weekly production schedule in conjunction with the Materials Management department based on master scheduling and inventory policies set for each SKU
  • Complete weekly employee schedule based on the production schedule. Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedule
  • Interface with others in the organization to ensure customer deadlines are met
  • Direct employees in adjusting machines, equipment and work processes to ensure product specifications are met
  • Develop, recommend, and implement changes in working conditions and use of equipment to improve production methods, equipment performance and efficiency, employee performance and product quality
  • Document line inefficiencies and down-time to identify issues. Works in conjunction with others to resolve them in a timely manner and develop preventative measures
  • Resolve worker grievances or submits unsettled grievances to Human Resources department for action
  • Maintain clean and organized work area
  • Ensure that necessary tools, supplies and equipment are available to perform production tasks effectively
  • Develop capital equipment justifications for machine tools and process technology to improve quality, cost and cycle times
  • Drive ideation in productivity and cost savings projects
  • Maintain time and production records
  • Schedule staff and prioritizes workload in order to manage team hours to allotted budget.
  • Complete duties, and ensures that subordinates complete their duties, in accordance with quality assurance, GMPs, safety and other company programs and procedures, and in accordance with government codes and regulations


  • Participate as an active member of production management team.


  • Work to maintain and improve on the quality, legality and safety of each product and the processes used in their manufacture
  • Responsible for always keeping work area clean
  • Report any potential contamination and suspicious activity immediately
  • Collaborate with AOE Pillar leaders to ensure proper process implementation, training, and performance deliverables are achieved.
  • Motivate team members to achieve plan goals
  • Build people capabilities through effective employee development and mentorship
  • Be able to utilize the SAP system for any production functions as necessary
  • Prepare performance and progress reports - tracking and reporting on production performance and progress
  • Optimize operational efficiencies to support production, yield, and productivity.
  • Understanding and verification of 21 CFR 117 Subpart B Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), Prerequisite and Preventive Control Programs, and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP)
  • This role requires regular presence on the plant floor
  • This role may require off-shift and weekend work
  • Other duties may be assigned



Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education & Experience:

Associates degree preferred; or three years of related bakery or food manufacturing experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability:

Ability to read, analyse and interpret documents such as production schedules, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees or colleagues in organization. Working knowledge of Spanish preferred.

Math Ability:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to interpret graphs and diagrams.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to give and receive constructive feedback

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have proficient in Microsoft Suite applications:

Microsoft Word software, Excel spreadsheet software and Outlook email software. Knowledge of inventory control and manufacturing software helpful.

Supervisory Ability:

Manages up to 70 employees in the Production and Packaging departments. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of these employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include recruiting, interviewing, hiring and training employees; time and attendance record keeping (ADP e-time), planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Employees move between hot and cold environments. Temperatures may be around 45F or 100F and in between. Hottest temp months between May & September. Exposed to moving equipment through the shift. Exposed to milk, eggs, butter, peanuts, tree nuts, soy, wheat and chocolate ingredients used in our products.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to work near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather); extreme cold (non-weather) and extreme heat (non-weather), and to rapid changes in temperature. The employee must be able to tolerate a work environment that contains flour dust. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

This position requires employee to have adequate communicating and observational skills, including seeing, speaking and hearing, due to the operation of various types of moving equipment used in the bakery. These requirements are for the safety of the employee and co-workers. These requirements are also necessary for collecting and distributing information to staff and communicating with co-workers. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and color vision.

Second Shift: 1pm-10pm with availability 7 days a week

Salary: $80,000 - $90,000

The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed In this specific job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates that exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
