The Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO) will serve in a strategic leadership role that will collaborate with senior leadership including the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), Chief Operating Officer (COO), and Chief Information Officer (CIO) to lead clinical transformation across NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue through digital care delivery. Focus will be on value creation for care delivery from current and new digital health technologies, including optimization of our Enterprise Electronic Medical Record system (Epic); clinical analytics; population health and patient facing clinical informatics. The CMIO will work closely with the system CMIO to provide leadership for enterprise innovations within EPIC, EPIC Revenue Cycle, EITS training, ETIS Biomedical and Clinical Applications as they are implemented at Bellevue. The individual will also support clinical data interoperability for care integration, quality & performance improvement programs along with public health reporting.
- Strategic and operational leadership for the optimization of our electronic medical healthcare system.
- Develop, sustain and lead a strong governance model for health information technology and data governance, data use & reporting, and clinical information technology decisions.
- Lead efforts for the use clinical data to proactively monitor, revise and develop best practice guidelines to improve patient outcomes.
- Oversee, manage, and set the goals for the informatics team, including the Operations Director, Reportin Director, and Physician Builders.
- Serve as the hospital representative on system wide informatics committees, meetings, and discussions.
- Serve as principal advisor to the facility CMO, CNO, COO, and CIO for the advancement of digital care delivery.
- Promote the standardization of clinical processes and interoperability; adoption of effective solutions; advance innovative patient care and population health initiatives; increase patient engagement via portal and mobile health along with clinical adoption/integration of these patient-facing technologies.
- Identify and pursue the use/advancement of digital care technologies in ways that add value to our organization, while raising awareness and interest - among both clinicians and IT professionals - in this burgeoning field.
- Communicate changes and trends in clinical digital care technology and translate the value to our care delivery audiences for quality and public health reporting, and drive improvement in system-wide quality scores
Competitive benefits and salary offered. Salary range: $250,000 - $350,000
- Licensed Practicing Provider MD/DO
- Credentialed and willing to maintain clinical practice
- Board certification in clinical informatics or ACGME accredited Clinical Informatics Fellowship program, preferred
- Experience using and supporting Epic's Electronic Medical Record System, preferred
- Proven track record as a clinical leader in advancement and delivery of digital care including the use, development, implementation and support of an industry standard electronic heath record system.
