IN-25045 Forest Land and Agriculture Undergraduate Intern Job Locations
US-DC-Washington
Overview World Wildlife Fund (WWF), one of the world's leading conservation organizations, seeks a Forest Land and Agriculture Undergraduate Intern. WWF's Climate Business Network (CBN) is a network of ambitious and influential companies convened by WWF that supports the transition to a 1.5C future. It is a global support network for national WWF partnerships that helps drive businesses forward on their sustainability journey through engagement on key topics. The Forest Land and Agriculture Intern will work with the CBN Team to support our work with companies on land sector climate mitigation. Our land sector mitigation group recently launched a report on action companies are taking on land sector mitigation. The Forest, Land, and Agriculture (FLAG) Intern will help the team on the next iteration of this research: tracking the next 100 company mitigation targets, and estimating the actual FLAG emissions reductions/removals that are expected based on existing targets. The intern will need to seek out information from public disclosure databases to assemble the data needed. With information about expected FLAG mitigation, our team will be able to better support companies who are setting FLAG targets and identify actions and programs that will help companies meet these mitigation targets. Responsibilities Under the supervision of the Director of Climate Science and Carbon Metrics, the intern will contribute to a comprehensive review of corporate climate/sustainability disclosures following an established methodology. The intern will collect data on trends in corporate land sector mitigation efforts and identify trends across reporting. The intern will work closely with WWF experts on corporate climate engagement and further their knowledge on the climate actions being taken by leading industry stakeholders.
