Health and Welfare: $8.60/hr up to 40 hours per week

Scope of Work:

The Maintenance Electrician performs a variety of electrical trade functions such as the installation, maintenance, or repair of equipment, distribution, lighting, or utilization of electric energy. Knowledge of Cathodic protection and grounding preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Installs, maintains and repairs electrical wiring systems, switches, distribution panels and outlet boxes, and a wide variety of electrical fixtures.
  • Inspects, maintains, cleans, repairs, tests, and adjusts a variety of electrical equipment, circuitry.
  • Electrical equipment that shall require maintenance and repairs includes generators, transformers, switchboards, UPS systems, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating and air conditioning equipment and machinery, lighting circuits, air movement fans, or other related electrical equipment.
  • Tests circuits and equipment by use of voltmeter, ammeter, wattmeter, and ohmmeter. Electrical circuits include voltage up to 600 volts and 3-phase current.
  • Work with blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications.
  • Will be required to be on a rotating after-hours on-call schedule.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma.
  • Must be knowledgeable of national and local electrical codes and have a valid Journeyman Electrical license.
  • Must have a minimum of three (3) years of journey-level experience and/or have completed a formal apprenticeship or equivalent formal vocational/technical training program on industrial electrical systems. Each complete year of accredited college education in a related field may be substituted for the equivalent number of years of experience.
  • Must be able to use hand tools, power tools, and appliances needed for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical circuits, related fixtures, and hardware.
  • Must be able to work from a scissor lift and or articulating boom lift.
  • Must be able to follow maintenance instructions, schedules and inspection of work orders and other job assignments.
  • Must be able to perform maintenance services, diagnose systems or equipment malfunctions, and complete repairs when required.
  • Must have knowledge of the composition, operation, and installation of a variety of electrical systems, circuits, equipment, and controls.
  • Must be able to plan, layout, and complete the installation, modification, and repair of various electrical systems, circuits, equipment, and controls.
  • Must be able to interpret and apply building plans, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings. Must be skilled in the use of a wide variety of test equipment such as voltmeter, ammeter, wattmeter, and ohmmeter.
  • Must be able to successfully complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (Tier 1) background check.
  • Must be able to maintain ability to access government worksite.
  • Must be able to work alternate and extended shift schedules when necessary to meet the customer's mission requirements, including weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to perform on-call duties when necessary and report to work within the required timeframe from notification.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license and a safe driving record, in accordance with company policy, to operate vehicles or equipment as required for the position.

Physical Demands / Work Environment:

  • Must be able to perform duties under adverse weather conditions (extreme cold / heat, etc.). Outside work in winter, summer, rain, sleet, and snow and on uneven terrain - side hills and slopes.
  • Physical requirements include (but are not limited to) the ability to lift 50 pounds, pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, bending, squatting, and reaching for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to work on-call, alternate, and extended shift schedules when necessary to meet the mission requirements, including weekends and holidays.
  • Work may be performed indoors or outdoors in varying weather conditions. Must be able to work in confined spaces, at heights, and around various hazards with appropriate PPE.
