The Department of Pediatrics is looking for a Business Financial Analyst (Level 2) to support the growing clinical faculty practice in Colorado Springs, which has 130 faculty across 16 Divisions within the Department of Pediatrics who provide clinical care within Children's Hospital Colorado and its network of care sites. Reporting to the Colorado Springs Department of Pediatrics Manager of Business Operations, the Senior Financial Analyst will play a crucial role in analyzing faculty practice financials, productivity, and business operations. The person in this role will work closely and collaboratively with the Department of Pediatrics, CU Medicine, and Children's Hospital Colorado - Colorado Springs personnel to support the delivery of effective and efficient business services in support of the Departmental Faculty. The position is responsible for understanding the complexities, systems, and the funds flow between the University of Colorado School of Medicine, Children's Hospital Colorado, and CU Medicine while supporting a variety of financial and business analysis tasks to provide accurate and timely requests for financial data, analysis, projections, and various projects. Key Responsibilities
- Provide oversight of the departmental income statements and fund accounts by ensuring accuracy, performing analysis, and developing presentation summaries.
- Analyze clinical productivity data using analysis and technical skillset. Develop presentations and a summary of findings for stakeholders.
- Assist the Manager of Business Operations and Vice Chair of Finance on financial matters with contract negotiations and funds flow agreements. Analyze existing agreements and report on variances.
- In partnership with the Departmental Finance Team and Division Business Managers, participate in the annual budget and analyze actual performance against the budget. Update the Colorado Springs budget and projection files.
- Complete tasks associated with the quarterly and year-end accounting function.
- Assist in the development of financial and data analysis tools, reports, and dashboards to be used in the quarterly or ad hoc review of business performance.
- Perform other duties, tasks, and projects as assigned.

Work Location:

Hybrid - this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 3 days per week on the Colorado Springs campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

Qualifications:
|
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, or data analytics from an accredited college or university.
- Two (2) years of professional-level experience as a financial analyst.
- Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire. Condition of Employment:
- Must successfully pass a drug test through Children's Hospital Colorado.
- Must be willing and able to pass a national criminal background check.

- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, or data analytics from an accredited college or university.
- Three (3) years of professional-level experience as a financial analyst with progressive responsibility.
- One (1) year of professional-level experience supporting healthcare operations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficiency in financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and performing variance analysis.
- Strong data analytics skills and technical ability in Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of income statements and physician reimbursement models.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
- Outstanding customer service skills.

Anticipated Pay Range:
|
The hiring range for this position has been established as $58,792 to $74,784. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level. Your total compensation goes beyond the number on your paycheck.
