Job Description

The Sr. Manager of Pilot Line and Special Projects will lead and oversee all aspects of technical support and project coordination for Pilot Lines, while managing metal color management efforts in partnership with the Color Solutions Group. This senior role involves strategic planning, managing high-level partnerships, and driving developmental projects. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional leadership skills, extensive experience in metal color management, and a proven track record in project management. Reports directly to VP of Sales-Metal Deco. Collaborates with various INX departments, including Color Solutions Group, R&D, Sales, Customer Service, and Marketing. Engages with external partners and industry stakeholders.

As Sr Manager, Pilot Line and Special Projects, you will be responsible to:

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and implement strategic plans for metal color management and project coordination in collaboration with Color Solutions Group.
  • Provide visionary leadership to drive innovation and continuous improvement in metal color management processes in liaison with Color Solutions Group.
  • Lead and mentor others, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.

Brand-Specific Activities

  • Act as a senior liaison between the metal division and customer brands (e.g. Coke, Monster, etc.), providing strategic project support.
  • Oversee the development of digital libraries and proofing for metal division.

Pilot Lines

  • Oversee the Pilot Line Manager, who will report directly to this position.
  • Manage monthly reporting activities.
  • Support new ink trials for major designs, including Coke, Pepsi and other major brands.
  • Facilitate trail runs for new product development.
  • Provide strategic support for special projects.

Metal Division Color Support - Technical Service/Support

  • Oversee and optimize all support activities (in-person, remote, etc.).
  • Develop cross-training programs to ensure regional support coverage.
  • Collaborate with sales leadership and Color Solutions Group to provide strategic guidance and support.
  • Implement systems to track support activities and monetization of services.

Metal Deco

  • Oversee color catalog activities, including color runs at Canmakers/Pilot lines.
  • Ensure quality control with personnel in Charlotte and provide strategic support.
  • Lead Marketing efforts for the catalog and establish HAWA Codes.
  • Confirm and oversee orders with corporate for sales and release to plants.
  • Approve content and provide strategic customer support through INX University.
  • Manage SKU rationalization and quarterly business meetings.
  • Very active in industry associations. Examples of this could include:
  • Serving as board member for IMDPA and/or heading committees.
  • Leading the Craft Brew Conference, including strategic planning and booth
  • Provide strategic support for pilot line activities and customer presentations.
  • Develop and oversee content for INX Color Perfection magazine and support marketing efforts.
Qualifications

To perform your job as expected, you will be required to:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from 4-year college or university; or 1-2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of both.
  • Proven leadership and strategic planning skills.
  • Extensive experience in color management and project coordination.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

In addition to these qualifications, we will consider it a plus if you have:

  • Previous experience in the ink industry
