Responsibilities

The Deposit Operations IRA Representative provides support for IRA and HSA functions, including transaction review, document processing, branch assistance, compliance monitoring, assisting with audits, and handling related research and mailings.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Maintain proficient knowledge of, and demonstrate ongoing compliance with all laws and regulations applicable to this position, ensure ongoing adherence to pertinent policies, procedures, and internal controls, and meet all job-specific training requirements in a timely fashion.
  • Support all of the IRA and HSA functions for Branches and Deposit Operations. Serve as a resource and provide assistance for IRA/HSA related inquiries.
  • Perform responsibilities related to IRA/HSA products, such as reviewing new accounts, transfers, contributions, distributions, and rollovers for accuracy and completeness.
  • Work with Branches to obtain corrected documentation after review to ensure all documentation for the associated transaction/account is received within established guidelines. Submit maintenance requests to Data Entry and upload documents to Synergy.
  • Complete necessary mailings as directed by management or IRA Specialists. Review mailings for accuracy.
  • Attend regular training and keep informed on all changes to IRS regulations in regards to the IRA and HSA products.
  • Communicate potential compliance or procedural concerns to the IRA Specialists and management.
  • Assist the IRA Specialist with responses to IRA audits.
  • Research projects as needed for the IRA Department.

Ancillary Duties:

As an integral member of the Deposit Operations Department, this position is also responsible to provide assistance wherever necessary to help the Deposit Operations Department and the Bank in achieving their annual goals.


Qualifications

Education, Training and Requirements:

  • Associate's Degree or equivalent preferred.
  • Preference will be given to applicants with specialized IRA training and/or experience with emphasis in branch operations and systems.
  • All Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.

Skills:

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of bank operating policies and procedures, thorough knowledge of features and benefits of bank consumer products and services.
  • Ability to travel.

Experience:

  • Minimum of three (3) years' experience in banking, specifically in back office operations, with a minimum of one-year experience with IRA and HSA products preferred.

Hours: 40 hours/week

Compensation: Commensurate with experience plus potential for annual merit increase.
