Janitor
Location: Port Townsend, Washington (Jefferson Health Clinic) Type: Non-Exempt Work Schedule: FullTime, Swing Shift (5PM - 1AM) Compensation: $17.00-$17.00 per hour Benefits: Tessera is proud to offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package to our eligible part-time and full-time employees. Tessera is seeking a self-motivated and reliable Janitor with a positive attitude. This is a temporary position and is expected to run up to but no longer than six months. Note: one year is the maximum for a temporary position. Typical duties include but are not limited to:
- Restroom Cleaning - sanitize and clean all toilets, urinals, sinks, fixtures, partitions, walls & doors. Restock supplies. Collect trash and replace liners. Sweep and mop floor. Follow cross contamination procedures.
- Office Cleaning - sweep, mop, vacuum according to schedule. Spot entry doors.
- Clean halls and high traffic areas - sweep, mop, vacuum according to schedule. Spot entry doors.
- Clean entrances and exits - sweep, mop, vacuum according to schedule.
- Trash - collect trash in lunchrooms, coffee areas, restrooms, shower/locker daily. Office areas trash according to schedule.
- Restock supplies - restock supplies daily.
- Dust - dust in lunch/coffee areas, restrooms, shower/locker areas, and dust free areas only.
- Clean stairwells - sweep, mop, vacuum, wipe handrails according to schedule.
- Clean portable showers - clean all shower stalls, damp wipe for dust, restock supplies, mop floors following cross contamination procedures.
- Maintain lockers - clean and organize. Clean and rinse all equipment before storing.
- Wet/Dry mopping - wet/dry mop each floor according to schedule.
- Sweep - sweep each area according to schedule.
- Communicate with customers - always be courteous and communicate in a professional manner when talking with customers.
Qualifications:
- Communicate with others in a courteous and helpful way.
- Must be able to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers in a professional manner. Must be able to follow verbal and/or written instructions.
- Must be able to tell time and count work hours.
- Must be able to work independently and as a team.
Physical Requirements: Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance. The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a case-by-case basis.
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.
- Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.
- Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.
Requirements:
- A valid state driver's license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera's insurance.
