Position Summary: We are seeking a dependable and service-oriented Yard Porter to assist with dealer pick-ups and support daily operations at our Mesquite and Wylie, TX yards. This contractor-based role is essential to helping drivers navigate yard procedures, offering transportation around the yard, and ensuring adherence to Standard Operating Procedures and quality control guidelines. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and committed to maintaining a smooth, safe, and professional yard environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Dealer Pick-Up Process by guiding dealers and assisting with coordination
- Provide golf cart rides for drivers and visitors around the yard to improve accessibility and efficiency
- Assist drivers with yard-specific SOPs
- Help enforce quality control measures by checking for compliance with site-specific procedures and standards
- Maintain clear and professional communication with drivers, dispatch, and yard supervisors
- Report safety concerns, damages, or process violations to site leadership promptly
- Assist in keeping the yard area organized, clean, and functional
- Provide backup support during high-volume periods or special yard projects as needed
Qualifications:
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Ability to operate a golf cart or yard vehicle safely and responsibly
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Must be reliable, punctual, and capable of working independently
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Familiarity with vehicle logistics, dealership processes, or transport environments is a plus
Schedule & Workload:
- 30 hours per week (part-time contractor)
- Weekday coverage preferred; flexibility to adjust hours based on yard needs
- Travel between Mesquite and Wylie yards required

While performing the duties of the job, the Contractor is required on a daily basis to analyze and interpret data, communicate, and remain in a stationary position for a significant amount of the work day and frequently access, input, and retrieve information from the computer and other office productivity devices. The Contractor is regularly required to move about the office and around the corporate campus. The Contractor must frequently move up to 10 pounds and occasionally move up to 25 pounds.
