Regional Director of Installations and Application Engineering

Convergint is looking for a full-time, enthusiastic, results driven and forward-thinking Regional Director of Installations and Application Engineering to join our amazing culture. As a Regional Director of Installations and Application Engineering you are a part of a dynamic team that allows you to grow as Convergint grows.

his role, you are responsible for managing and directing a high-performing team of Installation Managers, Project Managers, and Application Engineers. This individual will provide strategic and operational oversight of complex electronic security and access control projects, directly responsible for a $40M+ annual project portfolio.

This leader ensures successful project execution, customer satisfaction, and the continuous development of technical solutions across a wide geography. In addition, this role will own PACOM product training and certification programs for Convergint, promoting technical excellence and consistency across all field and design teams.

  Leadership & Strategy Provide hands-on leadership to regional installation, project management, and application engineering teams. Foster a culture of collaboration, safety, technical excellence, and customer satisfaction. Develop and execute operational strategies to ensure on-time, on-budget, and high-quality project delivery. Project Oversight Direct oversight of a project portfolio exceeding $40 million annually. Partner with Supply Chain, Resource Operations, and Field Operations to optimize resource planning, material readiness, and project execution. Monitor and improve project profitability, quality assurance, and client satisfaction metrics. Application Engineering & Technical Support Oversee the design and engineering of electronic security and access control system solutions. Ensure standardization of design practices, including drawing review, system configuration, and pre-sale technical support. Support specification and deployment of key technologies, including PACOM and other enterprise-class platforms. PACOM Certification & Product Ownership Serve as internal champion and subject matter expert for PACOM system design and deployment. Develop and maintain PACOM training programs and certification tracks for technical personnel. Liaise with vendors and Convergint stakeholders to ensure successful platform adoption and technical support. Team Development & Training Lead talent development initiatives for installation and application engineering staff. Create career development roadmaps and mentor high-potential leaders within the department. Drive technical training, certification, and cross-functional knowledge sharing.

  
  

What You'll Need

  • Strong leadership and organizational management capabilities across multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Deep knowledge of electronic security systems, access control, system integration, and low-voltage installations.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale projects and budgets.
  • Strong conceptual thinking and technical design skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related technical field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• Minimum of 10+ years in the electronic security, low-voltage installation, or application engineering fields.
• Previous experience managing project portfolios of $20M+; $40M+ preferred.
• Experience with PACOM or similar enterprise-class security platforms strongly preferred.
• Previous supervisory or director-level leadership experience required.

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field experience.
