The Role:

As a Field CTO, We are seeking a seasoned, executive-level professional to serve as a Strategic Executive Partner to our most critical clients. This individual will engage directly with C-level stakeholders to understand their strategic priorities, build trust, and collaboratively shape business roadmaps that drive growth-for both the client and our company.

You will act as a thought partner, solution strategist, and portfolio advisor-connecting customer needs to our evolving suite of capabilities, and ensuring our partnerships grow in depth, value, and strategic relevance.

This role will bridge the gap between technology and business, positioning our solutions to accelerate cloud adoption and drive innovation for our clients.

Travel Requirements:

In this role you will be expected to travel up to 25% in the region. It will be based in the Charlotte, NC area.

Responsibilities include:




  • C-Level Engagement


    • Build and maintain trusted advisor relationships with executive stakeholders across the client organization.
    • Act as the voice of the client internally, advocating for their evolving strategic needs.


  • Strategy & Roadmap Development


    • Collaborate with client leadership to design multi-year roadmaps aligned to their goals and our capabilities.
    • Identify transformation opportunities and ensure our solutions are integrated into their broader vision.


  • Portfolio Expansion & Growth


    • Drive account growth by aligning client strategies with our offerings-expanding product usage, cross-selling new capabilities, and identifying whitespace opportunities.
    • Partner with internal solution, product, and sales teams to craft tailored, high-impact proposals.


  • Executive Communication & Influence


    • Deliver high-level briefings, business reviews, and innovation discussions that connect strategy to measurable outcomes.
    • Provide market and business insight that positions us as a long-term partner, not just a vendor.


  • Internal Leadership & Collaboration


    • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure delivery excellence, client satisfaction, and commercial success.
    • Contribute to shaping our strategic account playbooks and executive engagement frameworks.



Additional Responsibilities:

Customer Engagement & Sales Enablement

- Serve as a trusted technology advisor in client conversations, aligning their business objectives with our AI-driven accelerators and cloud-native solutions.

- Collaborate with the sales team to identify and nurture opportunities, ensuring alignment with client needs and market trends.

- Enable sales teams with training, tools, and frameworks to articulate the value of our offerings.

GTM Strategy and Ecosystem Collaboration

- Develop and execute joint GTM strategies with our Executive Partnerships (Cisco, Dell, AWS, Azure etc...), aligning sales motions with their services

- Position our accelerators as key enablers for speeding up cloud adoption.

- Foster strong partnerships with AWS teams to showcase our capabilities and co-market solutions.

Team collaboration and Positioning

- Work with delivery teams and product teams to understand the capabilities and articulate with customers and sales teams.

- Act as a bridge between technical and business teams to implement tailored solutions for application development, data analytics, and cloud services.

- Promote the adoption of cloud to address client challenges and unlock new opportunities.

Evangelism and Industry Presence

- Represent the Presidio Practice at industry events, conferences, and client engagements.

- Build awareness of our technical capabilities and accelerators among clients, partners, and internal stakeholders.

- Advocate for our AI-driven innovations and cloud-native solutions through thought leadership, blogs, webinars, and whitepapers.

Presidio HAI (Human-AI Collaboration Framework)

- Champion the integration of the HAI framework into client solutions, driving automation and innovation across SDLC processes.

- Highlight HAI's capabilities in leveraging human input with AI to accelerate application & data modernization and improve business outcomes.

- Position HAI as a strategic differentiator in the Digital Services portfolio.

Required Skills and Professional Experience:



  • Bachelor's degree or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field OR equivalent experience and/or military experience
  • 12+ years in technology leadership roles, with a strong focus on cloud-native architectures, AI-driven solutions, and customer engagements.


Technical Skills:



  • Broad technical expertise: Deep understanding of software architecture, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), data engineering, security, DevOps, etc.
  • Solution architecture: Ability to design and evaluate complex systems, especially in pre-sales or client-facing scenarios.
  • Industry-specific knowledge: Familiarity with technologies relevant to the verticals the company serves (e.g., finance, healthcare, telecom).
  • Innovation/Trends awareness: Staying ahead of trends like AI, edge computing, cybersecurity, etc


Business and Strategic Skills:



  • Technology strategy alignment: Translating business goals into technical strategies.
  • Value articulation: Explaining the business value of technical solutions in clear, non-technical language.
  • Customer-centric mindset: Understanding client needs and building trust through technical credibility.
  • Go-to-market collaboration: Working closely with sales, product, and marketing teams to support business growth.


Leadership & Communication




  • Executive communication: Comfortable presenting to C-level audiences and board members.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Partnering with internal engineering teams, product managers, and customers.
  • Influence without authority: Often guiding or advising teams without direct reporting lines.
  • Mentorship: Coaching technical teams and sometimes client teams on best practices


Soft Skills:



  • Problem-solving: Ability to quickly analyze situations and provide high-level strategic guidance.
  • Adaptability: Handling ambiguity and adjusting approach based on customer maturity and context.
  • Empathy: Understanding both business pressures and technical challenges across stakeholders.
  • Time management: Balancing multiple client engagements and internal responsibilities


Preferred Experience & Qualifications:



  • Public speaking / Evangelism: Representing the company at conferences, webinars, or in thought leadership.
  • Pre-sales / Sales engineering experience: Especially in enterprise environments.
  • Hands-on experience: Even if high-level now, prior hands-on work in engineering or architecture is essential
