Job Overview & Essential Functions

Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC is North America's largest Kenworth truck dealership group and leasing group. As MHC continues to grow, we have an opening for a General Manager of Carrier Operations. The role of the General Manager of Carrier Operations responsible for the oversight of day-to-day operations of all Carrier businesses in compliance with established policies and procedures. Plans and directs all activities of the branch profit centers through the operational managers who are responsible for the daily administration of the branch sales, parts and service activities. Evaluates staff requirements and approves hiring plans. Formulates major objectives, policies, plans, and programs for the branch operations. Evaluates each branch operating results against pre-determined objectives on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.

  • Monitors stock levels booked and stock orders for equipment.
  • Formulates annual and monthly business plan, sales/profit objectives and expense budgets with the branch operation managers.
  • Develops strategies to merchandise units, parts and service in conjunction with branch operational managers. Maintains and develops individual account penetration strategies for target and maintains accounts.
  • Ensures the branch is in compliance with local, state and federal governmental regulations.
  • Establishes and maintains good customer relations.
  • Develops and trains operational and department managers and reviews and appraises their performance. Recommends compensation change in accordance with company policy. Ensures the organizational structure of the branch is efficiently planned and adequately and competently staffed.
  • Promotes safe work habits and ensures that safety rules are followed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications
  • Requires previous management experience.
  • Requires thorough knowledge of all phases of branch operations.
  • Prefer direct unit sales experience.
  • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Requires strong leadership ability and decision-making skills.
