Job Summary: The Research Associate serves as an independent researcher, or a collaborator on a multi-scholar research initiative, and may have lead responsibility for discrete components of a larger project. Performs other duties as needed. The Advanced Imaging and Microscopy Core Facility at the Loma Linda University School of Medicine seeks a Research and Development Microscopist to manage multi-user equipment and image analysis software. Technical experience with various microscope systems, including widefield and confocal fluorescence microscopy, is highly desirable. The successful candidate must possess excellent interpersonal skills to train and meet the research needs of diverse core users, as well as interact with manufacturers for technical service and warranty work. Responsibilities encompass managing and operating advanced microscopy equipment, training and assisting core users at multiple levels, conducting imaging studies in various basic and translational science projects, collaborating with researchers on diverse projects, and assisting Core Directors and Users with manuscript preparation and grant application development.
