Job brief

Berry Aviation Inc. (BAI) is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to work in close connection with the Director of Accounting/Treasury and Accounting Manager. We are looking for this person to contribute directly to team success and company growth. The ideal candidate will have experience in preparing financial statements and reports, developing and maintaining accounting systems and procedures, analyzing financial data and preparing budgets.

Responsibilities



  • Work with the Director of Accounting/Treasury, and Accounting Manager in all aspects of financial administration, business planning, accounting, treasury, financial and budgeting process.
  • Assist with all bank and credit activities including accurate and timely reporting to banks to maintain compliance with credit agreements.
  • Analyze financial data. Review financial data to make forecasts and provide financial insights to management.
  • Prepare internal financial statements. Prepare and analyze financial statements, balance sheets, and profit and loss statements.
  • Ensure compliance. Ensure accounting standards and regulatory requirements are met.
  • Reconcile accounts. Reconcile general ledger accounts, subsidiary accounts, and balance sheet accounts.
  • Record transactions. Record, verify, and consolidate transactions.
  • In charge of annual external audit. Prepare work papers and financial statements in conjunction with AICPA accounting standards.
  • Utilize various analysis techniques (historical actuals, trending, forecasting, parametric estimating, etc.) to verify cost realism and reasonableness of price proposals and internal cost estimates.
  • Administer the financial performance through the completion of projects by analyzing costs, revenue, profit and risk for business units.
  • Responsible for ensuring financial integrity of projects.
  • Support CFO, Director of Accounting/Treasury, and Accounting Manager in cash forecasting and reporting
  • Analyze monthly financial statement variances.
  • Develop monthly financial metric reports
  • Prepare CAPEX cost justification and establish as required.



Qualifications

Knowledge and Skill Requirements



  • B.S. in Finance or Accounting with CPA/MBA a plus
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting, finance
  • Experience in Public Accounting preferred
  • Practical knowledge and understanding of US GAAP
  • Strong analytical and accounting skills


  • Preparing error-free accounting reports
  • Financial modeling and cost accounting
  • Experience with ERP accounting systems (Netsuite preferred)
  • Prior experience dealing with Internal Auditors/External Auditors/DCAA and DCMA preferred
  • Advanced skills in Word, Excel, and Powerpoint
