Job Overview

The Maintenance A Technician plays a key role in keeping Viracon's production equipment operating safely, efficiently, and reliably. This position is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairing, and rebuilding a wide range of mechanical and electrical systems in a manufacturing environment.

This role requires advanced technical skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision to ensure that equipment downtime is minimized and production goals are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance, including lubrication, dismantling, and cleaning of parts
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical failures without direct supervision
  • Apply general fabrication skills including welding (ARC, MIG & TIG), cutting, grinding, and torch use
  • Read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams
  • Use meters and basic electrical knowledge to troubleshoot and repair equipment
  • Apply general plumbing skills to design, install, and maintain projects as needed
  • Assist in machine installation, assembly, and disassembly
  • Maintain and control inventory of tools, supplies, and replacement parts
  • Support a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Vocational/technical training in a related field plus 8 years' experience, OR 10+ years of experience in a related maintenance field
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
  • Proficiency in welding and fabrication (ARC, MIG, TIG)
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and diagrams
  • Skilled in troubleshooting and repairing complex equipment independently

Pay & Schedule

  • Pay: $31.00/hour
  • Rotating 12 hour day shifts 6 AM- 6 PM

Work Environment

  • Based in a large-scale manufacturing facility
  • Exposure to varying temperatures, noise, and dust from production processes
  • Regular interaction with machinery and moving equipment under strict safety protocols
  • Team-oriented environment with potential overtime, including weekends, based on production needs
