Overview

Milliman's Indianapolis Health Practice is seeking a Child Welfare Intern who will support research and analysis of child welfare and behavioral health issues at both state and national levels for our growing team. This paid, part-time position offers a unique opportunity for professional growth and development with a remote team of subject matter experts. This person will join a highly collaborative, multi-disciplinary project team.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will:



  • Conduct, summarize, and document research and analysis of child welfare and behavioral health issues at both state and national levels
  • Support the consulting team in developing solutions and strategies for clients
  • Participate in internal meetings and contribute to discussions on project development
  • Prepare reports and presentations under the guidance of experienced consultants
  • Engage in special projects as assigned, providing valuable insights and recommendations
  • Keep abreast of trends and federal level changes affecting child welfare and behavioral health
  • Ensure quality control processes and procedures are followed


Qualifications



  • Strong organization and time management skills with attention to detail to manage multiple projects at the same time

  • Ability to strategically and creatively process information and communicate with all levels within the organization

Required



  • Currently enrolled in a Master's degree program in Social Work, Public Policy, Public Health, Public Administration or a related field
  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Public Policy, Public Health, Public Administration or a related field


Preferred



  • Background in child welfare and/or behavioral health

The Team

The Indianapolis Health Practice provides tailored support to clients on a range of behavioral health and child welfare initiatives. We assist states with behavioral health policy, programming, rate setting and finance needs, customizing our solutions to each client's unique context. Recognizing the interplay between multiple funding sources and authorities, we use a holistic and multifaceted approach to addressing the unique needs of diverse stakeholders. As behavioral health becomes increasingly critical, Milliman is committed to helping communities and states navigate their pressing behavioral health challenges across the continuum of care.

Location

This role is based out of the Milliman office in Indianapolis, IN but candidates hired into this role may work remotely anywhere in the US.

Compensation

The overall hourly range for this role is $19 - $40 per hour.

For candidates residing in:



  • Alaska, California, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington, or the District of Columbia the salary range is $21 - $36 per hour.
  • New York City, Newark, San Jose, or San Francisco the salary range is $23 - $40 per hour.
  • All other locations the salary range is $19 - $33 per hour.


A combination of factors will be considered, including, but not limited to, education, relevant work experience, qualifications, skills, certifications, etc.
