Sr. Commodity Manager - Advanced Technology Sourcing Location: Sunnyvale, CA We are seeking a strategic, results-driven individual for the role of Sr. Commodity Manager - Advanced Technology Sourcing to lead sourcing partnership initiatives across engineering, PLM and executive leadership on new products. This role is responsible for identifying and implementing emerging technologies in Juniper products that align with company goals, ensuring supply chain resilience, cost efficiency, and innovation in a rapidly evolving technology landscape. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead sourcing activities for advanced technology components and systems, including semiconductors, interconnect, optics, liquid cooling, and other emerging technologies
- Identify new, and emerging technologies in the market, and work with product and engineering teams to implement them for driving improvements in cost efficiency and overall Design-for-Value.
- Build strong relationships with key suppliers and internal stakeholders across product management, engineering, and system architecture teams
- Collaborate with technical teams to support NPI (New Product Introduction) and ensure supplier readiness for scale-up.
- Monitor market trends, and emerging technology roadmaps from suppliers to provide guidance for sourcing and overall new product design strategy
- Analyze cost structures on new systems designs and identify opportunities for cost reduction, risk mitigation, and value creation.
- Maintain a deep understanding of supplier capabilities and benchmarking of Juniper products and systems design against industry peers
- Drive negotiation of commercial terms, supply agreements, NDAs, and licensing/IP agreements as required.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or other technical field (MBA or technical master's preferred).
- 8-10+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, engineering, or product management, with a focus on high-tech or advanced technology hardware.
- 5+ years of experience in networking, datacenter, or server & storage industries
- Strong knowledge of bleeding edge technology and supply based for advanced electronics, semiconductors, and other emerging technologies used in networking and datacenter products.
- Proven negotiation and contract management skills.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams in fast-paced, innovative environments.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to shifting business needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Past experience in either hardware engineering or product management
- Strong understanding of market and industry landscape in datacenter switching, AI hardware systems, and network design.
- Working knowledge of supply chain risk management tools and sustainability principles.
#LI-AHUYNH #LI-PRIORITY Minimum Salary: $168,800.00 Maximum Salary:$242,650.00 The pay range for this position is expected to be between $168,800.00 and $242,650.00/year; however, the base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position also includes medical benefits, 401(k) eligibility, vacation, sick time, and parental leave. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors. Juniper's pay range data is provided in accordance with local state pay transparency regulations.
