The team

This position will be part of the team building the next generation user interface for managing any Hitachi Vantara storage and AI products.

The role

The Staff Frontend Engineer is a senior-level individual contributor, responsible for the user-facing aspects of Hitachi Vantara applications. The Staff Frontend Engineer focuses on building, maintaining, and optimizing the front-end of the VSP360 web application, ensuring it functions correctly and provides a positive user experience. This role involves more than just coding; it includes mentoring junior engineers, contributing to architectural decisions, and influencing the overall development process. The Staff Frontend Engineer is a senior-level leader who is not only skilled in frontend development but also in leading, mentoring, and shaping the technical direction of the team and product
  • Expert-Level Programming: Proficient in JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, and modern web frameworks (e.g., React).
  • Ability to identify and solve complex technical problems and proactively seek out areas for improvement.
  • Ability to lead and mentor others, guide technical decisions, and drive innovation.
  • Expert in Micro Front End architectures and design
  • Experienced in React and Angular development
  • Requires 10+ years of professional experience in frontend engineering, with some experience in a senior or staff-level role.
  • Comprehensive understanding of software development practices, including architecture, design patterns, and best practices.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • REST API experience
