Inter-Con is searching for motivated dedicated and qualifiedContract Detention Officers (CDO)to join our team. The CDO will be responsible for the secure detention and transportation of prisoners while upholding the highest standards of professionalism and compliance with federal guidelines.

Work Environment




  • Position requires prolonged standing and walking, in the performance of daily security activities. Job operates in client sites which could be indoors or outdoors.
  • Open availability Nights, Weekends, Holidays and overtime as directed (overtime occurs).
  • Work various shifts and Holidays as assigned.
  • Must maintain flexibility regarding job assignments and locations.
  • Guard and transport prisoners in a secure and humane manner
  • Ensure all safety protocols and procedures are followed during transportation and detention
  • Operate within federal and agency-specific policies regarding detainee handling

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:



  • Must be aU.S. Citizen
  • Must be21 years of age or older
  • Must have aHigh School Diploma or GED
  • Mustspeak, read, and write English fluently
  • Possess avalid U.S. driver's license
  • If transporting prisoners, must have aCommercial Driver's License (CDL)
  • Must be trained and qualified in the use ofUSMS-approved firearms and less-than-lethal devices
  • Certification or waiver forHepatitis BandTB skin test
  • Must have anhonorable or general dischargeif a Veteran


Experience Requirements:



  • Minimum ofthree (3) years' experiencehandling prisoners
  • Experience must be in one or more of the following roles:
  • Law Enforcement Officer
  • Corrections Officer
  • Detention Officer
  • Military Police Officer
  • Previous CDO experiencemay be credited toward this requirement
